VANJA sent off i don't understand why, apart from that he was solid. Another Milinkovic-Savic who's legit... it's not very surprising

And maybe someone can explain wtf Pastore does on the bench in place of Cristante who did nothing for 75 minutes

Vanja was great except for the sending off.

Pastore was injured.

Yes Cancelo is a satisfying signing so far, he is not much of a defensive liability which was my main concern. We haven't played a match vs top opponents yet, so i am curious to see how he adjust when there is less space in front of him. Offers much more in attack than Licht and MDS.

We took that free kick like imbeciles, instead of making a cross with 3 guys in the box: Ronaldo, Bonucci and Mandzukic

Playing Douglas like this was a mistake. Just to give him time but to the detriment of the game. He isn't ready and now he is stuck on the right out of position. We'd do better subbing out Mandzukic and moving Costa to the left.

What a freak goal to concede. Everyone shut off

That’s why you extend leads beyond 1-0 when you’re controlling the game

Then at 1-1 we didn’t create one good chance. Really bad response, lot of stupid shots from far, a lot of failed crosses or dribbles from, of all people, Douglas Costa

Credit to Genoa who played well and we didn’t deserve to win

Amazing goal to concede, watching the replay its incredible how Bonucci, Benatia and Szczesny all coordinate to fall sleep at the same time.

On a different day this game could have ended 3-0

I mean obviously Di Natale was Udinese. Tremendous player, but they seemed to have good scouting too and some very talented younger players, but not in recent years. Wonder what changed there, if it was a chance in the clubs approach or if they just haven't unearthed any youngsters/competition out in South America/Africa is tougher now.
