Insanity continues on
Another incredible tie, Pioli saves his place
Pezzellanbauer gives an assist goal to Mirallas who hasn't scored a single goal since 2014 I think

The amounts of added time in Bundesliga have definitively increased since last season.
Used to be 3 minutes at the very most, usually just 2 minutes, now 5 or 6 minutes happen regularly. Think it was a explicit decision by the refereeing committees to adjust this, maybe the same happened in Serie A

Re: 2018/19 Calcio Saga
VAR stops the game so the extra time gets longer. They were waiting for quite a bit on the 3-2 with VAR so it made sense to add the 7 minutes after the 5 goals and red card.

Re: 2018/19 Calcio Saga
Hard to describe whether the 4-4-2 (more like 4-4-1-1 given Higuain's SS role in contrast to Cutrone's in box role) limits us or it really is a product of the 2 in midfield centre.
Having Hakan as an inside winger on the left just really limits any creativity he brings given he is first and foremost a central player, desperate to be central as displayed by his lack of discipline out wide. And the continuous exclusion of Samu which is baffling given the havoc he creates when on, and tends to cut into his right foot often despite his preferred left.
Susu too, is limited out wide on the right and creates chaos in the box when only in the box yet is not the natural winger to make foraying runs from midfield especially due to the positioning of Kessie and Bukakeyoko though thankfully when he is courageous enough to use his right foot it comes across with decent sting as in Fifa terms, a three start weak foot would be the (lazy) best way to describe it.
Kessie is consistent in bringing the ball forward and I cannot tell if he looks better as a result of Bukakeyoko's inept ball skills or that he just leads the midfield line well, but consistently turns off in the final third in his decision making and passing.
Bukakeyoko on the other hand has been shown to be decent in his ball winning skills yet gives up so many turnovers its mind-boggling and just looks like Paul Pogba on the ball without the flair.
That isn't a good thing.
Ric Rod is consistent as always even if erratic at times whilst I am officially convinced that Ignazio Abate's new evolved position in CB has so far, can and will be a success as it just suits him far more than out right and his pace is as quick as ever, despite his more bulky frame.
Would love to see how he pairs with Romangnoli when he returns.
Deserved draw by Torino who missed as many chances whilst Cutrone's glaring miss only forgiven by his important goals for us last and this season.
Mazzarri though, has to be the most bitter manager I have ever seen in his words but consistent bickering on the sidelines. No wonder his health suffers all the time as a result.

Milan beat Udi 1-0, with a super late winner = "Milan shithouse to another victory"
Inter beat Udi 1-0 in Milan w a late PK = "Inter get the job done once again!"
The narrative in the league is evident

Millik who just seems to score the more important goals for Napoli in ratio to his minutes on, scores for a Napoli in Sardegna with a sumptuous free-kick and a "creamy" strike of the ball.
Clearly needed given Napoli are clearly still reeling from the loss to Liverpool.
Time to stop doubting the man.

Provinciale maestro Maran skipping the sidelines in protest like the Südtirol farmer he is because he knows like Ballardini or Iachini he will be passed around teams like a brothel whore, in Serie A for another decade to come.

Roma-Genoa on.
Olimpico a ghost town almost due to the protests being placed outside against Pallotta.
Not going to help a distraught EDF and an all time demotivated Roma squad.

Olsen just made the worst of mistakes to give Genoa a goal, could cost them the game and the coach.

Re: 2018/19 Calcio Saga
Turns out despite the all-time low spirits of both teams; this has turned out to be a fantastic game.
-Made one by a very bereft of confidence and indecisive Olsen
-Made by a maniacal last ditch attempt to save his job (EDF) by placing Zaniolo in a False 9
-Made all by the always underrated Prandelli in his new team playing with far more attacking guile straight after the courageous draw versus Empoli in which they lasted with 10 men for over an hour.
3-2 Roma.
Not a convincing win by any means despite two goals being down to Olsen; but if Roma can string another win then EDF has room to breath.
Oh wait its Juventus at home next. Nevermind.
Although such a game with a battling result can provide a different mentality taught to the squad.
Long road ahead.

Re: 2018/19 Calcio Saga
I refuse to criticize Olsen honestly. He's got a lot more in the positive bank than the negative this season so a couple of mistakes today don't change my overall opinion of him, which is that he has been quite dependable. I especially won't criticize him on the same day Alisson committed just as bad an error against Liverpool. It can happen to literally any keeper at any time.
As for the game itself, we really rode our luck and that's a good thing for once. I'd rather go into the Juve game on a dodgy win than another poor result. We need every little bit of help to get out of this hole. Can't be picky about how we win just as long as we do. No complaints from me today.

Re: 2018/19 Calcio Saga
Olsen indeed really lacks nothing from a technical standpoint but his indecisiveness has cost Roma and Sweden at times. He seems tentative in using his abilities and obviously it comes from doubt in his own abilities and after the two errors each save was interestingly held on by him for dear life as if the ball could get away at any time.
Like Alisson showed us in his perfect form, no goalkeeper is invulnerable to that odd mistake. Such is the trials of being one as 1/10 saves are probable to come out error prone.
Cruel role in a sense but it is what it is.
