def considering a Switch during Black Friday, would be my first in..well since Gamecube, which I hated.

He's not a fan of Ultimate Spiderman, might not like it. It was great though, exceeded my expectations. Been a good year for gaming. Everyone who played Odyssey said its great too, will get to it when I'm done with Red Dead.

Don't like Odyssey much tbh, prefer Origins. Don't get me wrong it's a good game but it doesn't feel like anything special.

Doubt I'm going back after Red Dead as it's hard to go back after experiencing Red Dead as it's inferior in just about every way.

That, and also i probably won't spend £40 on just swinging around the city (which is what i really want to do). I have been told the story is decent and the sidequests are generic.

It looks like a game which has been hyped due to pop culture and advertising rather than being rated for the game it is.

Looks like a solid 8/10 though so i'll play it when it's £15-20 in a year or free on PS+

No, the hype is indeed real. The story was better than all of movies, the characters were great, combat great, side missions were good. What was generic and repetitive were the random crimes and bases. Its by far the best Spiderman game ever and top 3 superheroes game ever easily.

Tbf he is getting consistently above 30 FPS which is more than what I expected.

What I don't understand is why ray tracing is marketed as such a big thing? It only works on reflective textures like metal and glass. Makes zero difference when you have say skin, clothes, stone, ground etc which is what 80% of games are unless you play a racing game.

Been playing the Spyro Trilogy remakes.

Going to this after Red Dead is a serious shock to the system. Laughing

It's very good though, visuals are lovely. My memory might be foggy but i don't remember the dragons you rescue in the original having their own unique designs and personality which is a nice touch imo.

Celeste was so good, ugh. Love that game. Odyssey was aiight, I know the fan boys are gaga over an actual good AC game since, to me, the 1st/2nd one but whatever, GOTY, sure. Never was a fan of Monster Hunter series. Gonna assume RDR2 is that awesome and after playing an hour of Spiderman, yeah, lovely game.

I've said this before but i thought Origins was better tbh, it's a decent game 7-8 out of 10 but it doesn't hold a candle to the games I've played on that list.

GOW and RDR2 are exceptional in their own ways and Spiderman is great but i haven't played Monster Hunter and Celeste to comment.

I know they were both received well though.

Monster Hunter seems like an objectively great, unique game that has some very good updates in store for it. It's just not my type of game, and judging by how quickly people in this thread wrote the game off, I suspect it wasn't anyone's cup of tea on here Razz

Never played Celeste.

Sony confirm they won't be at E3 in 2019.

Basically confirms new consoles in 2020 like we expected.

You'll get first bunch with slightly (very slightly) different design and with different hatch animations but they ended up being repeated as you collect more. From the original Spyro games that is.

So i wasn't going crazy.

I'm about 50% in so far and each one has a unique design, dialogue and personality.

They only give a sentence or two but it's a nice touch regardless imo.

Almost certainly, if it was coming any earlier i suspect they'd announce it at E3 instead of not showing up at all.

Suspect they'll release trailers for TLOU, Ghost of Tsushima and Death Stranding when necessary but no actual press conferences until they are ready to talk PS5.

It's still two years away tbf, i would say it would also depend if PS5 plays PS4 games or not.

If it does it makes the wait option much easier to suggest, because there's some really great PS4 games.

Wet surfaces too, so expect to see a lot of wet games coming. Laughing
