Re: General Games Discussion
What you're probably talking is the style, because that's period accurate and the game is going for realism, which on the other hand may feel bland. Btw do you have HD Texture Pack installed? Here's nice review from medieval expert:
With dynamic objects I mean when you drop something it physically drops in the game world, objects can be moved, clothes and armor is visually removed from bodies when you take them from inventory etc. Or is it like W3 with static objects, 100 dropped rakes is just a container, scripted "paper" npc's etc?

Next DLC coming in february. They are taking their sweet ass time as there's still one DLC even after this, and the modding tools after that.

Re: General Games Discussion
Guys could you please recommend me some great games to play? I have been out of the scene for a while now.
Just to give you an idea about what I like: I love AC (played all of them except for the last two) and Far Cry (particularly 3). I hated the Witcher for some reason even though it's an open world game.
Also, is there a post-apocalyptic game where you play against zombies and/or cannibals? I love those.
Any help would be appreciated

Re: General Games Discussion
Been recently playing the recent Tomb Raider games and really impressed by them. If you liked the Uncharted series they are the closest you can get to the series. It has a great mix of combat, stealth, puzzles and open-world discovery. Shame the series didn't sell very well because of what I believe was the timing of their releases, but they are underrated games with good story and very fun to play.

There's an upcoming open world, post-apocalyptic, zombie game called Days Gone that looks to be right up your alley. It doesn't get released until April, though.

I'm wondering if you would like the Metro games, it's not full on zombies but it is post apocalypse.
That's the new one though, the two previous games are already out.

Looks really fun IMO, to the point i actually want to play it now. Feels like the game would live or die based on the quality of the missions though as the core gameplay looks undoubtedly fun to play.

The last Tomb Raider I played is Rise of the Tomb Raider (2015). I liked it, but it didn't have the same impact on me as much as say AC or Far Cry. Then again, I have been out of the game for a while now so I wouldn't be surprised if those two have been surpassed by other games.

Love it! Looks absolutely terrific! Open world, great graphics and I also love the fact that the zombies are incredibly fast not like those of TWD. oh and it's available for pre-order. I already know I'll have a blast with it. Thanks, Thimmy.

Where the fuck have I been?! This game looks just amazing. The graphics are so great I'm having trouble telling whether I'm watching cinematics or actual gameplay.
It'll be released in February this year and it's also available for pre-order.
Thank you for the suggestion, really looking forward to it.
EDIT: 4A Games couldn't have picked a better track to accompany the trailer of Metro Exodus than Massive Attack's Angel. It made the game even more exciting than it already is.

There's apparently a new survival open world game called Green Hell that's being touted as one of the most realistic games ever.

The game looks interesting, but it's apparently only on PC, so that's a no go for me :/

Anthem looks way better than I expected, still a skip for me but that's more because I cant be fucked to get invested in a loot based MMO lite
looking at the first few months of 2019, gonna play way more than I have in the last 2 years combined, kinda excited

Re: General Games Discussion
Yeah, the next couple of months look really exciting. I missed playing an RPG game, so I bought the Dragon Quest game and Tales of Berseria. Just haven't been able to motivate myself to start playing any of them. I've started jogging and swimming daily now, and when I finally have time to relax after work, I usually just eat, watch a TV show and then hit the sack.
Anthem looks good, based on what little they've showed... but so did the original Destiny game. Don't think I'll start playing any type of MMO game in the near future, anyway.

I'm going to go on a gaming rampage as well, but for a different reason. I need all the distraction I can get from the garbage fest going on at Madrid from top to bottom.

Cheers to that, mate I think you'll like The Last of Us, but keep in mind that it's more of a character and story- driven game, than an action fueled one.

Mod maker used automated neuro network to upscale all Morrowind textures, and the results are impressive:
Enhanced super resolution generative adverserial networks, or ESRGAN, is an upscaling method that takes an low-res image and adds realistic details to it. By doing it over several passes with the goal of fooling its adverserial part, it will usually produce an image with more fidelity and realism than past methods. I have upscaled the textures in Morrowind to four times the vanilla resolution using ESRGAN. Below you can compare various models' results to the original (HR).

They look wonderful, but I already bought the 9900k because I needed it for work. I do a lot of audio processing and real time sampling that has to be latency-free and AMD have let me down in that regard but the 9900k does the job very well.
I have to say for gaming those AMDs look dope. And for a fraction of the price.
Too bad we have to wait it to the summer.

Re: General Games Discussion
Honestly I doubt the power consumption bit but from a pricing point of view I hope they are cheaper than Intel counterparts. Also AMD are almost 6 months late. By then Intel could smash them with 10 core 10nm CPUs. The truth is whatever AMD does Intel already got answers to up their sleeves. They just don't release them until they need to.
Re: General Games Discussion
Intel actually is in tight spot atm with its problematic 10nm as it's late many years already, and is coming possibly in summer of 2020. AMD has currently the console market, Microsoft announced that AMD will be their chip in the next gen xbox, and I think Sony will use it too. AMD is already ahead in server cpu's and Rome is going to annihilate Intel. In six months AMD will also own the desktop market in every category, price, power and efficiency. It actually looks incredible atm, and we just can hope that AMD will take as much market share as it can before Intel can get 10nm going. And even then, 10nm Intel is basically equivalent of 7nm TSMC, not better.

Re: General Games Discussion
I hope so too, competition is good for the consumers.
PS: I think AMD have almost always had the console market. I wonder how much % profit they generate from it.

Well not much obviously, I think I read for like couple hundred million profit annually.

Soooo in your latest edition of fuck EA.
https://kotaku.com/ea-cancels-open-world-star-wars-game-1831786371
Can't be stressed enough how they need the franchise taken away from them, nothing positive will come until Disney starts giving the IP to people who are not utter cunts.

Well nothing can come out of it anyway when the whole franchise was already ruined by Disney. I call it Disney Wars nowadays.

Re: General Games Discussion
Super Mario Odyssey.
Really impressed with the creativity of this, so much great level design either using the new mechanics and just in general hidden levels. It's giving me serious Banjo Kazooie vibes with better quality control and in general Mario stuff which is unique to it like the 2D in hidden walls designs.
I should be clear i have only played a handful of actual worlds so far so maybe i'm getting excited too early. But so far i'm really impressed with the general creativity and new things to freshen up the formula without taking away from the soul of the game like a certain Zelda game did.
