Unbelievable that Harden keeps developing still, after being a MVP candidate for 4 years, he now added the floater to his game to keep things unpredictable. Was awful for 3 quarters but stepped up when it mattered.

Yesterday was a terrible performance by the refs, more than usual. No consistency in calls, or maybe it's me who doesn't understand what blocking foul is.

The best example yesterday when a Raptors player tried to do a lay up but instead his elbow caught Chris Paul right in the jaw. Then Raptors got 2 free throws wtf.

Not that i believe it changed the result, it had little influence as Rockets won 3 quarters out of 4.

Tatum has been the worst iso scorer in the league this year. Pretty impressive.

That's actually pretty surprising re: Middleton.

Explains some of his struggles this year. He's a good iso player, but he's not quite as good playing in a more free flowing, passing oriented, Giannis oriented offense. He could be a better spot up shooter, and off the ball he's really not great. He needs the ball in his hands to be effective, but the offense revolves around Giannis having the ball the most, and others sharing.

I'm not surprised he hasn't been as good this year as last year in the regular season. I expect that he'll turn it on in the playoffs when ISO plays become a little more common as defense gets tighter. Same thing happened last year with Middleton, obviously (although the iso in that offense was a lot higher even in the general season).

Really surprised to see it that high though.

Whenever I see Embiid iso in the paint he's a beast. For him to score so low on this stat I can only think it's his threes and the times he gets fouled. Embiid is great iso'ing in the paint, although his weakness is stamina; will be very interesting to see the playoffs. He looks gassed in the first quarter ffs.

That’s not an iso. That’s a post up.

An iso is a perimeter play.

He averages 1.04 ppp in post up play which is 4th best for players with more than 100 post possessions

If post-up plays don't count as isolation plays, then there's no point having an iso score for centers. Embiid shoots threes at 29.5% this season, if those are his isolation plays then sure, he's going to suck in that stat.

Post ups don't count. An iso is where you receive the ball and all your teammates run away from you and leave you 1-on-1 with your primary defender. Then the teammates have to run around and keep their defenders occupied to avoid the iso-player receiving a double team.

The only reason Embiid is on the list, is because he's one of the only centers qualifying (+100 possessions) as it's clearly a shit decision to run iso plays for a center.

There's nothing wrong with the stat. Just the Philly playcalling.

Dude, there absolutely ARE Post Up ISO plays and they've existed forever, which is why theyre included in that stat.
They teach you that in High School sometimes earlier.

You cant just decide they don't count and attribute the stat to something else.


Embiid turns to baby shit whenever he has to score on someone his own size, and that's usually who will stick him on a low post iso, so it makes sense.
