Inter is always there for us when we need them. Now they can go 5th if Milan and Roma win.

What's happening with VAR is what I feared most. The technology is fine, it's the use of it that is causing the controversy. The refs have too much control over when it gets used.

Consigli threw the game with that red card. Sassuolo looked on track to equalize until that play.

He was absolutely awful at the start. When Biglia got injured it gave him the opportunity to get a string of games together. He's improved A LOT over the past few months.

Obviously, there are things about him that bother me. He's pretty clumsy. He doesn't have much passing range and I don't see him helping us playing out of pressure with his passing either.

He's strong, good defensively and good at carrying the ball forward. I can't see him playing as a RCM in a 4-3-3. He should either play as a CM in a 4-4-2 or as a DM in a 4-3-3.

Biglia is getting old and we lack another DM. The market for those players doesn't look that good either right now. I wouldn't mind him staying tbh.

Bakayoko improved so much, it makes sense for him to stay imo.

Paqueta arriving also allowed for the system effectively accommodate a pure DM more than before. It makes it so that less playmaking can be expected from the CM (Bakayoko) as Paqueta has very good output so far, and Bakayoko can focus on covering for everyone. The winter mercato of Piatek and Paqueta is one for Milan's history. A competent LW and CL spots would be in the bag.

Anyway how in the world did Roma manage to lose 3-0 to this Lazio?? Inzaghi masterclass.

I still think Bakayoko is a ticking time bomb. Muntari had a good run of form with us too, he even scored against Barca. However, I do admire his attitude. He works really hard and takes criticism well. A lot of players would either pout or lose all confidence after Gattuso's initial remarks but he took it as constructive criticism and worked to improve himself.

Napoli - Juve tonight
2nd vs 1st
Ancelotti vs Allegri

Juve win and the league gets buried to record levels. Napoli win and there is a small crack open in the race.

Napoli are unbeaten at home in all competions, going through Lazio, Milan, Roma, PSG, Liverpool, etc. They have a full team except for Albiol.

Juve are in bad shape trying to find themselves for the CL match, still unbeaten away in Serie A. Cuadrado, Khedira, Costa are certain absences while Ronaldo is a doubt.

Probable formations:

Meret; Malcuit, Maksimovic, Koulibaly, Ghoulam; Callejon, Allan, Fabian, Zielinski; Insigne, Milik

Szczesny; Cancelo, Bonucci, Chiellini, Alex Sandro; Bentancur, Pjanic, Matuidi; Bernardeschi, Mandzukic, Ronaldo

Smart bets are on Giampaolo as the next coach, though there is still the likes of Sarri, Conte, Montella and Sousa all to be mooted as well. Me personally, I'd say it's either Giampaolo, Sousa or Sarri.

More pressingly is who will replace Monchi should he leave this summer. Much tougher question.

Seen somewhere that Ausillio is the prime candidate

Yeah I've read that in a few places. Not sure how much stock I put into it, but I can think of worse directors to be linked with.

RIP game

Malcuit with an abysmal back pass that Ronaldo pounces on, and Meret gets sent off as he tried to block Ronaldo from scoring.

Edit: Pjanic scores the resulting free kick, proving again why Ronaldo should never touch a free kick.

Ronaldo being Ronaldo in his signature free kicks should never conceal the fact that Pjanic who was Juninho's direct understudy to the art, is far better at it and a phenom in the distinct craft of it on its own.

Should be automatically handed to him.
