Asensio is a different player tho.

His ceiling is way higher and has too much talent to let go so quickly. Give him a few more seasons.

If a player like Asensio starts for our club we have no hope. He should only come off the bench when we are winning. Imagine relying on him from the bench. I'd rather keep Lucas 10/10 times than Asensio who adds nothing to our team

I could understand the pro-Asensio camp, I could understand the pro-Ceballos camp, shit, I could get the pro-Lucas camp. I am still struggling to see what exactly is the big deal about Valverde. I mean, his sample size is so small and yet, he has some hard fans. I thought TMO was the only one but he actually has a following.

Anyway, all those sales better result in one Paul Pogba or Eriksen. Don't care honestly.

At this stage doc, it’s becoming very unlikely. Just wait and see, we end up starting the same 11 as last year with Hazard the only addition!

Speaking of small sample size, Pogba actually had a pretty good pre-season match against Leeds United. He worked uncharacteristically hard, and ran more than I've seen from him since the very start of Ole's tenure. He wasn't the best player on the pitch, but he was quite productive, and actually put in a good deal of effort. It's just a pre-season match against a relatively weak team, but I had assumed one of his fans on here would've mentioned it by now. That's the kind of standard you'd expect from him on a more regular basis, considering how highly regarded he is by some. I still expect him to return to his largely nonchalant, "stop-start" ways, once the lengthy, league season begins.

The reality that no one wants Bale is slowly setting in. If you can't rid of him through the Pogba deal which is by itself very difficult, push Isco and Asensio out to raise cash. Imagine James sold for 45 millions, Isco 70 mil to City, Asensio 60 millions toi Bayern that would be an incredible haul.

At some point Zidane needs to look at players eye to eye and tell them to move on lol

If I'm not mistaken, I think I remember reading a story that says zidane has already spoken to the players one on one telling them if he wants them or not. I think I read that before the hazard deal. But that's why contracts are in place, to protect both parties. We need buyers, and the players also need to look out for their best interest

I can explain what I see in Valverde, can you explain what you see in Ceballos? With what is indeed a small sample size, Fede has impressed me more than Ceballos has with his comparatively large sample size.

I didn't want to state this clearly because it somewhat demystifies what I deem to be fun and interesting, and also because i thought it was already relatively clear, but here it is:

I purposely aim my posting style to be somewhat tongue in cheek and humorous, mixed in a nuanced enough way to still be somewhat representative of what I mean. AKA, I like Fede but i DONT ACTUALLY have such an inflated view on him.

I consider Fede to be somewhat analogous to latter-day Schweinsteiger in terms of player profile. I can see Fede playing in a double-pivot, in a 3 man midfield in a pocket of space similar to that occupied by Kroos, or maybe even as a DM if he put his mind to it. I've seen enough of flashes of talent to feel like he might actually turn into a good player for us. I hold hopes that he can be the modern type of CM that I wish my team can have. Maybe he will fail, maybe he won't.

With Ceballos, I was excited for him in the beginning but as time has gone by, he's made evident that he's more of a poor man's Isco than a deep-lying CM like Xavi for example. Ceballos is just a meh player to me, an AM, and he doesn't have the physical characteristics either that would be representative of a modern elite player who is both technically and physically very good (e.g., Modric).

It is fascinating to me how people have not realized this about Ceballos, unless he steps up in the future, it's over for him here imo, and that's fine. I keep shitting on Ceballos and praising Fede because i find it funny to poke at peeps who imo are just completely wrong.

Apparently Ceballos to Arsenal 1-year loan nearly complete. Can't wait till I get to see the blokes from ArsenalFanTV sh*t on this guy. Ty will no doubt hail him as the next Xavi Hernandez and Claude will be depressed about the fact it's just ANOTHER underwhelming signing for Arsenal.

Of course I can express what I see in Ceballos but then again, Ceballos has Real Betis and 2 excellent u21 tournaments under his belt that showed he can at least cut the mustard in La Liga.

Him being successful in the best league in the world is another story tbh. Good luck to him. I do actually hope Valverde makes it btw, I gots no animosity towards the young man. Can't say the same for you lol.

Someone like TMO is not going to want to hear something like Ceballos having about the same amount of defensive actions per match (tackles and interceptions) as his lovechild Fede, while having more shots per match, and more key passes per match. All looking at LL this past season, not even considering how well Ceballos has done with the U-21s, but that was just so we can compare apples to apples.

But Ceballos is shit, and Fede is the second coming.

Someone like TMO is not going to want to waste time with peeps who use infantile logic in their arguments. Without taking context and actual player abilities into consideration you could easily make some asshole playing in Afghanistan Premier League look like he's better than an Elite player in Europe.

I've seen plenty of footage of Ceballos in the U-21's,  and it's the same ol same ol. He is not remarkable as either a passer or physically. Poor man's Isco is actually not an inaccurate assessment of Ceballos; he's ultimately an AM and a pocket passer who likes to especially play near the box and otherwise make simple and basic passes when playing more deeply.

Ceballos is currently not good enough to play at Madrid, he's as sterile as Illarramendi was, but in his own way. He's the Illarramendi of Spanish Am's. Again, what's sad here is that despite i'm quite tongue in cheek, you come here seemingly legit triggered with absolutely terrible logic.

I used statistics, you ranted using no facts and my logic is flawed. Okay. With your superior logic explain to me how Fede is better than Ceballos considering they have the same defensive output while Ceballos has a better offensive output in the same league during the same timeframe. And I’d like to hear some facts instead of the usual love story.

If I’m honest, they are both not good enough for RM, which is why Ceballos is going on loan to Arsenal, and Fede will sit the bench.

By the way I’d love for you to show me a player who looks like an “Elite” player statistically in a top league but is actually a nobody. Maybe you don’t know how modern football statistics work?

MTO is becoming as bad as another poster who shall remain unnamed in picking one player to vigorously support! Fede remains with Madrid as a squad player! It’s only his second year and he is what Zidane wants as a bench midfielder. Llorente is gone because Zidane didn’t see him in his planned midfield. I believe he isn’t necessarily going to play a DM and if needed Kroos will play the Casemiro role. Basically it seems to me is Zidane’s main philosophy, at least for this year is to improve the bench in that most backups are challengers to the starters.

Ceballos still needs a lot of development and club, not necessarily Zidane, believes he is worth holding on to. In the end, if he isn’t deemed good enough for Madrid, his sale value will be more than what it is today.

So to MTO, I’ll repeat what I said earlier. Ceballos will be starting this year while Fede will ride the bench, a lot of games won’t even make game day squad! So let's compare were both are in terms of development in a year or possibly two.

This isnt the worst thing Barnett has said or done. As I said before, it has now become a pissing competition, and airing out of dirty laundry. The worst thing Barnett ever did or said was when carlo was coach and he (barnett) was contacting flo telling him bout bale not being happy in his rw role and bale wanting more central role. And thus putting pressure on carlo

The way things stand right now, it's all reactionary. Nobody seems to want his client and in Spain, it's been ages since a positive report has come out on bale (and rightly so, as he has either been injured or garbage of late). As an agent Barnett is looking out for his client, considering the bridges are already burnt. He's pretty much earning his money

To think Lucas AND Bale are gonna stay (: And then, you have to read absolute transfer numpties like Nick talk about Eriksen not being good enough for Madrid (: (:
