He keeps playing Hazard on the far left farther from the box. No idea from Zidane how to reach the box.

Zidane won't change his "tactics" because he doesn't know better. He's a great player, subpar coach is what he is. Pick up some Joe from BestBuy parking lot and he'll do the job better probably or at least keep the ship as steady as it currently is.

And sometimes no one. We sometimes cross to no one in the box. A bunch of players that can utilise the ball extremely well on the ground and we just keep swinging cross expecting Ronaldo to latch on to it from Turin.

There was a play, same diagonal ball from left to Dani. Modric makes a lovely run into space behind the Valencia back line. Instead of passing it into space, Dani crosses it to no one in the box.

The image of Modric jumping up and down angrily would be a lasting memory for a while.

We have NOBODY that can break through the middle whether by dribble, speed or physicality other than Valverde.  We have NO CHOICE but to play it wide right now.  We were starting to play more intricately when Hazard was finding form because, then, Benzema and Hazard have the skill to play in small spaces in the middle... but he got injured. Marcelo was also key to this... but he's out too.

So my question.... how do you propose we play through the middle with the current squad?  I'm genuinely curious.

So what's wrong with playing more diagonal ball or just play more direct ? The midfield itself is choosing to hold the ball down in the midfield and play wide, I have seen benzema, mariano, bale or jovic made well time runs in space and not receiving the ball, if isco,asensio, hazard makes a direct run they receive the ball, it's clearly a zz thing which is stupid, cause your creating the best chances for players who aren't scorers, it's not impossible to service the cf when I see weak la liga teams using their forwards effectively.

You can't.  What diagonal balls?  To whom?  Diagonal balls work when defenders have to be worried about the middle.  That's why Pep's teams are absolute beasts with diagonal balls because there's space to play them.

If you don't have to worry about the middle, defenders will eat diagonal balls of any length alive.  Not to mention, the best diagonal balls are to fullbacks cutting behind the defenders.  Does anyone think diagonal balls to Nacho and Carvajal are the way to go?

I have seen plenty of opportunities to play diagonal balls and direct balls over the top, instead of attempting the pass, the midfield hesitate and back/sideways passes, you can say it's impossible but that just an excuse for zz, everyone was hiding behind benzema isn't a real cf, as to why the team can't be more direct now it's impossible for this team nonsense.

As I said I have seen team with lesser than Madrid making easy passes to the
CF or play diagonal passes etc, it's nothing complicated zz must be able to see the team main problem is creating clear chances, some better coaching can easily fix these problems, I don't see why the team needs pogba and a mbappe to do these basic plays.

We don't have towering forwards, physical midfielders or full backs who can cross the ball effectively and yet we persist with it. Also, we don't have to be one or the other, this team can easily mix and match. We can sometimes cross, we can sometimes work the ball into the box, we can sometimes offer a long distance shot outside the box. Variety, that's what I think folks are really craving.

If La Real has variety in their football, I don't think Madrid has any lesser talent to not have something other than crossing.

Nacho offered no attacking incision, and nor did Isco. From the moment i saw the lineup i realized it was a Zidane mistake because Isco is practically useless if we are not playing a 4312 sort of shape. We were toothless in attack from the get go and i think we should have gone 433 with Vinicius in the left instead of Isco or 4312 with Jovic instead of Rodrygo. We started intense but we couldn't get a real stranglehold on the game because there was little incision or threat in the final third, just a bunch of ballet passing around by Kroos and Co.

If cr was on still the team I'm 100% sure this team would create for him outside of crosses, like they did before and I'm not trying to hear cr runs are the bestest ever, he is the super star and demands all the service, it's bad habits from playing that one man offense, all the team has to do is play more traditional and quicker, let's midfielders focusing on creating and scorers focus on scoring, all this possession, shooting around the box and crossing, makes the game the harder cause the crossing sucks for the most part, can't count on long distance shooting to win big games and the cf spends most of the wandering around waiting whiles chances go a begging cause crosses are over hit or don't beat the first defender.

the zz needs to use the middle effectively just hoof couple passes every games when the wing blocked off, it's better than trying to back pass then lose the ball and concede a goal how many points have been lost not trying to pass the ball directly to benzema as a outlet, again la liga scrubs have no problem doing this to Madrid, but our midfielder are scared to death to mess up their passing stats or trying to show off over dribbling and score lucky goals, just can't win like that zz needs to implement a proper offensive scheme outside of this basic stuff or just get an assistant that can help out.
