Agree with this. It's the same with what Fergie did with Gibson, he gave him the game against Wigan to show Everton what he's capable of. Not comparing the two, as Granero is on a different planet to Gibson. Anyway, I think Granero is off, he's not received the playing time under Mourinho, his development has stalled and, to be honest, I don't think he'll make it to world class status, which is a shame considering the potential he showed at Getafe.

I wouldn't mind if he stayed as a backup since Kaka may leave.

Granero plays so that means he's leaving, great logic :lucas:

We don't sell in the winter it has never happened.

Anyway, a journalist asked Granero "Is there a difference between Barca and Madrid?" Granero answered "Yes, five points."

I just don't understand why every frekin one overrate him sooo much, i mean yea he is a castilla player and all but common, not to this level.

He is playing as a CM/DM, his defensive work is average, he dwells on the ball too much which destroys most of the counters, he does just simple passing, rarely makes a through ball, takes alot of CR like shots which most of them are either weak or in the stands, even when he joins that attack, he has no effectiveness whatsoever and usually looses the ball.

To think that he deserves more time then sahin just because he is a castilla player is just retarded and disturbing and complete injustice.

Yes give him play time if there wasn't anyone else, but we brought Sahin for a reason, since we brought him, just give him his freakin chance.

None has said he deserves more than Sahin but we've said he deserves time.

He can become Real Madrid starting material if we give him the chance imo

Granero is a great squad player.
Someone we need when our other players are either fatigued or injured/suspended.

He's good but he isn't like WOW!
I like him and he always plays solid and gets the job done right.

lol @ never happened.

And yes, its very logical for teams to field players that they want to sell. Ya know to strut their stuff, show the goods etc..

Not saying that will happen to Granero though. Infact I doubt he will. He is the definition of a solid squad player and Mou seems to like him.

The club also loves having him around for press conferences/events that require the presence of a youth product.

I reckon Granero actually threatened (right word?) to go to Liverpool recently, but Mou still wants him, so to keep him satisfied, he's getting a string of games.

Personally, I think it's kinda selfish what Mou's doing with Granero. He should either fully loan/ sell Granero and start Sahin more, or simply never have gotten Sahin, and use Granero more. He wants more players that what is possible.

When I said don't sell I meant players we would be using.

Guys like Ruud, Momo etc were injured and barely had any presence at all. For players we use occasionally (like Granero) we just don't sell.

Sure there are exceptions but those are just exceptions and rarely if ever happen that often.

As for the "putting him on display" argument I don't buy that. If anything the player would want to avoid playing so as to not risk injury.

I heard Liverpool approached asking for a 6 month loan and that we were only interested in a hard sell for 12 million. Neither party could agree so Granero will stay.

GREAT POST!!! I agree 100%

In the last Classico (2-2) I recal a time when Granero attempted to make on overhead through ball on the right side of the pitch. He completely over hit it and quite frankly it was a terrible pass. Something a CM at Madrid should hit practically every time. Me and my friend both looked at each other at the same time and said "Sahin would have hit that pass on the button" and we would have a sweeping move towards Barcas goal.

"Granero never lets me down, he always fulfills my expectations. If there is someone you can trust it is Granero. I have no time to read the experts in the press. Granero plays with a lot of character and is a guy with a very special personality which I can't lose at Madrid."

Real Madrid have reportedly rejected an offer from an English side for midfielder Esteban Granero.

According to MARCA, a Premier League club submitted a sizeable bid for the 25-year-old Madrid native, who made just 17 appearances in last season's Liga-winning campaign.

The midfielder is the subject of an offer from Liverpool, but told children at a new Real campus he is happy where he is.

"As a child I wished to play for this team and I've made it; if that's your dream too, be sure to make it come true. Learn from your coaches and be sure to enjoy yourselves and to feel proud for wearing the Real Madrid shirt."

"The title we achieved will be [hard to beat] for a long time. We made a record of almost insurmountable points and goals." the midfielder said in a press conference.

"Real Madrid is the team to beat and will be for many years. Last season was flawless. Real Madrid were far superior to the others breaking all records. I just hope that the Ballon D'Or [would be] for one of our players,"

Granero also spoke of his hopes for the upcoming campaign, after turning out 28 times for the La Liga champions last season.

He continued: "I face the season with many enthusiasm, eager to learn. We have many challenges to a collective level, mainly to overcome what was achieved last year. [To] learn, grow as a player and settle at this club."

Granero is currently in pre-season training, as Mourinho's side prepare for the Super Cup double-header against Barcelona next month.
