Liverpool FC Match Analysis [2011-2012]

Andy and Hendo need to put this Geordie/Mackem thing off the pitch. ._.

Reina- 7.5 - Commanding as always, Doesnt save penalties nowadays..

Flanagan- 7 - Better performance from arsenal, Solid in defense, A bit sloppy.

Skrtel- 7.5 - Did everything right until the penalty, Showed that he is still rusty, A fit Skrtel would never have left a leg dangling in a box.

Wilson- 7.5 - Good and Solid performance.

Robinson- 7 - Composed performance, Doesnt look 17 to me..

Spearing- 7.5 - Good range of passing, Kept the ball moving, Neat touches and broke up plays ..

Adam- 6 - Tried one many new things and failed, Looked to me that he wanted a goal bad, Disrespected Exeter .. Got the right treatment. lol

Maxi- 7.5 - Helped the Center midfielders a lot, Was not invisible or obtrusive to the flow of our passing. Got a good goal.

Meireles- 7

Henderson- 7 - Hard working.. Better.. Had a few passes of .. Stopped running in the second half..

Suarez- 9 - <3

Carroll- 6 - Got a goal, Very Important for his confidence.

Downing- 6 - Really should have done better, He a goal written all over him but could not score


Shelvey- 7 - Good game.

Reina- 8 great distribution
Kelly- 7 assured before injury
Agger- 8 very reliable
Carra- 6 would have been 8 had it not been for mistake
Enrique- 8 great
Lucas- 9 just fantastic
Adam- 8 goal and assists
Henderson- 9 great goal, good crossing and movement
Kuyt- 7 2 assists, could have scored too
Suarez- 8 amazing movement and positioning, better finishing please
Downing- 8 really deserved a goal, great game
Skrtel- 8.5 very assured display at RB, great goal
Carroll- 6 didn't get many chances, should have dove for Stewi's cross
Maxi- 6.5 decent pass and move play

Reina 8 - Had very little to do, gutted for him that we conceded a poor goal right at the end.

Kelly 7 - Didn't last too long, I hope he hasn't got that problem with the ladies.

Skrtel 9 - What a fine goal! Was eager to go forward once given this chance to play RB and I liked what I saw!

Carragher 6 - In a tighter game that sort of mistakes will cost you points.

Agger 8 - Good game, safe at the back, ventured succesfully forward a couple of times.

Enrique 8 - Good game all round.

Lucas 9 - Outstanding.

Henderson 9 - What a finish with his left foot, looked better than previously, too.

Adam 9 - What a finish with his right foot, great passes, too.

Downing 9 - Very good runs and took defenders on. Can cross or cut inside for a shot.

Suarez 9 - Ever so dangerous, should have got a penalty.

Kuyt 9 - Again he was everywhere, the work-rate on this guy... woah.

Carroll & Maxi 7 - OK 15 minute appearances.

Reina 7 - Didn't have much to do . .but when called upon was upto the task . . some of his long passes weren't as his usual ones. .

Kelly 6 - Was ok in the back but to me looked a little weak from the start wasn't going forward much either . .

Agger 8.5 - Very solid in the back & comfortable going forward . .the usual agger

Carra 6 - was decent not outrageously solid but decent . .the final mistake just made it a little bad . .

Enrique 8.5 - Solid in the back! ! brilliant with tackles! some great passes at the front! ! loving this guy! !

Lucas 9.5 - would have love to give him a 10/10! ! was sooooo good but after a while looked fatigue n started mispassing but was undoubtedly my Midfield General

Henderson 8.5 - Not just his goal but his passes where brilliant too! ! looked very lively!

Adam 9 - was amazing today! some long passes were a treat to watch! !

Downing - 8 lacked a little enthusiasm then compared to his previous games . .but was still a major threat upfront

Suarez 9.5 - OUTRAGEOUS! ! MIND BLOWING! ! RELENTLESS! ! & all other similar synonyms! ! just the missed opportunity & a definite 10!

Kuyt - 8 tireless worker! as usual amazing contributor! ! really was a liveware . .

Skrtel 8.5 - Great to see the beast back! looked solid & hungry for game time

Maxi 6 - was not much visible once he came in . .really didn't see him contribute too much

Carroll 5- disappointed moved lazily around . .didn't go up for some chances just stood ground . . a little disappointing from the big man! !

Reina - 7.5 - not a very noticeable game, didn't have much to do, but was good when called upon

Kelly - 6 - looked good in defense when he was on the field, but that wasn't very long

Agger - 8.5 - very solid in defense, and his run forward was quite good even if he blew the shot

Carra - 6.5 - Solid in defense from what i saw (i left for the last five minutes), but i'll take off for what other people are describing was a mistake on his part

Enrique - 8.5 - impressive on all fronts as always, both in defense and moving forward. the one mistake i saw him make he recovered from and made the tackle regardless

Lucas - 9.5 - clearly one of the best DMs in the league. hope he gets the credit he deserves sometime soon

Henderson - 8 - good in possession and with passes, and his goal was class

Adam - 9 - passing was excellent, also had a great goal and good assist

Downing - 8.5 - great on attack as we've been used to see from him by now

Suarez - 9.5 - beautiful movement all game long, was unlucky to not get a goal or at least one of the 3 penalties he shouldve gotten... one complaint, he does seem to dive a little bit sometimes, some of those falls were rightfully not called

Kuyt - 8 - everything we've come to expect from him, wish he would've finished that cross in front of goal

Skrtel - 8.5 - great in defense, was surprised to see him succeed so well on the right, great goal off the corner

Maxi - 6.5 - had a few decent moments pressuring the other team, fairly invisible

Carroll - N.A - didn't see enough of when he was on to rate him

Refs - 2 - seemed like every close call went against us all game, at least suarez (and we) could laugh about it because of our overall dominance... but between the penalties we might've had, the freekick we should've had in the box after the backpass, and countless tackles around the field (the one where adam supposedly dived was by far the worst, the defender didn't even come close to the ball), it was ridiculous

Reina - 7 - Didn't have to do much. Had decent distribution.

Skrtel - 5 - Doesn't slot in well at RB. He's ok defensively, but very average going forward. Lost possession a number of times.

Carra - 5 - Silly penalty to give away. Hoofed a good amount in the first half.

Agger - 8 - Decent bringing the ball out and was generally solid.

Enrique - 8 - Good going forward. Links up well with the midfielders.

Lucas - 7 - Decent performance defensively and seemed to be coming forward a lot more this game. Had some good ideas, but with them parking the bus, it was too hard.

Adam - 4 - Very careless performance from him. Everything from misplaced passes, to careless fouls.

Henderson - 5 - Only because he missed 3 chances. 3! Decent otherwise. Useless on the left wing/midfield.

Downing - 7 - Average in the first half. Came alive in the second half and should have had an assist or two.

Suarez - 7 - Seems to get frustrated very quickly if players around him don't do what he expects. It was always going to be a tough task single handedly trying to break their defense.

Kuyt - 6 - An average performance. Some decent touches and link up play, but nothing really stood out.

Subs:

Carroll - 5 - Not sure what to say about his little time on the pitch.

Bellamy - 6 - Wasn't terrible. Definitely did not expect his level of performance. He'll be a good sub for us.


We were terrible in the final third. These are the teams we should be beating. Even if we don't beat them, we shouldn't be heading home goalless. Pretty disappointed with our lack of clear cut chance creation.

Reina - 7 - Didn't have much to do.

Skrtel - 6 - Nothing wrong defensively but couldn't really help the team to get a goal.

Carragher - 4 - Gave away the penalty that lost us the game.

Agger - 8 - Nothing negative to say about him.

Enrique - 8 - What PoolSoup said, links up well with MF.

Lucas - 7 - Did fine.

Adam - 6 - Not one of his better games.

Henderson - 6 - If only he had a little creativity in him... Needed to score, too.

Downing - 8 - Good job. Could still do better, but he was better than most our players.

Suarez - 7 - It's maybe a bit of a problem that Luis is on a whole different level of creativity compared to rest of our players (today). Whether it's a clever pass or a run, his teammates at times struggle to see the opportunity. Had to try to do too much on his own today - and he can do that better than today, too.

Kuyt - 6 - Did fine in midfield and bringing the ball up but couldn't turn that into goals in the final third. The story of our whole squad in this game.

Carroll & Bellamy - 6.

Reina- 7 had absolutely nothing to do, good distribution
Skrtel- 7 was good
Carragher- 4 cost us the game
Agger- 8 Excellent
Enrique- 8 very good
Adam- 3 Woeful game
Lucas- 7 solid, very good in second half
Downing- 8 our best player
Henderson- 5 would have given him a 7 if it wasn't for those series of misses
Suarez- 8 a threat all the time
Kuyt- 6 not his best game

Bellamy- 7 linked up well with Enrique
Carroll- 7 added to attack, linked up well, and gave more space to rest of the team

To be honest we are battering them unnecessarily bar Hendo , We played well , 24 shots and created 18 chances, It was that bad a game IMO.

Reina - 6 - Solid game

Skrtel - 6 - Should have had a penalty.Bit unlucky in that regard.

Carra - 5 - More than the penalty his back passing to Reina rather than to Lucas every time he has the ball is bewildering to say the least.

Agger - 7.5 - Best player on the pitch for me.Still bemusing whenever some say Carra is our best defender in RAWK.He is light years ahead of any of both Carra and Skrtel.The best thing from the game is he came through unscathed even if we lost.

Enrique - 6.5- Decent game.Solid at the back and decent going forward.

Lucas - 6.5 - Had a poor first half and gave the ball few times poorly.But was back to his best in the 2nd half.

Adam - 6 - Similar to Lucas.Struggled in the first half and misplaced passes frequently but came out strongly in the 2nd half.His set piece deliveries were threatening as usual.

Henderson - 6 - Should have buried the one on one chance but otherwise decent game.

Downing - 7.5 - Our best attacking player.And his deliveries from wide areas were excellent too.

Suarez - 6.5 - Always menacing but poor finishing let him down twice just like Henderson

Kuyt - 6 - Worked his socks off and linked up well.Still start with him against Spurs.

Subs:

Carroll - 6 - Tried his best and created panic in Stoke penalty area.Led to the confusion for Stoke Golly which presented Suarez with open goal.

Bellamy -6 - Should have buried the header from the Downing cross.Other than that looked good on debut.

Reina- 7 - Did well, Never saves a penalty though.

Kelly-6 - Still rusty you could see it, Had a hard time agst the wingers.

Carra-7 - Good Game.

Coates- 6 - A couple of dodgy challenges and 1 very dodgy pass, other than that decent.

Robinson-5.5 - Had a hard time agst the wingers.

Spearing-7 - Never fails to do a job.

Lucas-7.5 - Did what he does best only a bit better than Spero on the night.

Maxi-7 - Good game.

Suarez-7 - Frustrating afternoon, We could have seen him go past the 5 goals mark for this season. But still on 3 XD.

Kuyt-8 - Did everything right.

Bellamy- 8.5 - Fabolous one touch football, Took his goal well, 35 yarder on the bar, Always came back to help defend, Very good Game, MOM

Gerrard-6 - Rusty but you see flashes of what he still has <3.

Anyways our passing in the final third was excellent, We did not lack any sort if creativity, We just failed to finish off easy chances, The attackers tried many new things today, Especially Suarez who made Bellamy run a lot .

Defense was very dodgy, Other than that we good game.
And oh Carra at it again.. XD

Didn't see the game, again :-(

Nice to see Gerrard back and Bellamy doing well.

Suarez should get a goal soon, or it will start eating the guy :-(

Lucas - 8 - Relatively easy afternoon for him after Everton were down to 10 men.
Adam - 7 - Almost scored, but I was left waiting for a bit more creativity from him.
Kuyt - 6 - Otherwise good, but missed a penalty.
Downing - 6 - Was it just me or was Downing very quiet today?
Suarez - 8 - This guy provides so much creativity, but we need more from our other attacking players, too.
Carroll - 8 - His goal was a perfect example of how we should play with him in the side: Other players build up play and create the chance, Carroll there to finish it off.

Gerrard - 7 - Went close once, but couldn't tell the difference to Adam.
Bellamy - 8 - Was involved in the build up to our first goal, good appearance.
