Can't help but say that I disagree jay. Firstly, his vision improved. His execution could be better, sure, but he sees passes and tries to play them that he wouldn't have seen before. His hold-up play seems to have improved, but that may well be just the difference between La Liga and England. He defends more now as well.

Pedro Botelho played for Rayo at the Camp Nou tonight as Barca won 4-0. Watching him on sky sports now.

You know how it is at the camp nou Sri...he hardly touched the ball. Wasn't watching the whole game so I didn't see what position he was playing.

Hmmm.. But it would be some valuable experience nonetheless..

Him, Galindo and Wellington Silva form a trinity of players from who I had great hopes and who are yet to do anything to catch our attention.. Unfortunately, we have Vela imminently jumping into that ship too..

Such a shame when young talent gets wasted Sad

Watching SPL highlights again, Kyle Bartley played in Rangers' 2-1 win over Kilmanock.

I think he'll be playing regularly now that he's back from injury.

The problem with Bartley is that he's being played in a midfield role. I know Arsene likes ball playing Defenders but he needs to get used to playing at the back.
I feel that has been the problem with Djourou as well. He initially struggled with the role at the back.

Arsenal now seem stacked with players in everywhere. The sad part is that the reserve forwards are firing blanks

He played in central defence, actually, and hasn't played in midfield since the Old Firm Derby last year when he got booked in just a minute.

Arsenal goalkeeper James Shea has ended his loan at Dagenham & Redbridge.

Shea has been recalled from his loan spell at Dagenham & Redbridge.

James joined the League Two outfit on a season-long loan at the start of the 2011/12 campaign, but has found his first-team chances at Victoria Road limited to just four appearances.

I agree. Miquel looks a good, intelligent defender in the making but needs to toughen up a little bit. He's got the height, now he just needs to augment that with some power and experience of dealing with strong forwards. There are plenty of those in England. A loan to a Championship/top League 1 side would do him good.

I think the strength/ power will come with age. He seems to be able to hold his own and not afraid to get to get stuck in. He played very well after coming on last night

Vela vs Malaga :

Moment of brilliance for that beauty of a goal, but could have maybe scored another team and should have really gotten an assist, if it weren't for some bad finishing on Sociedad's part.

All in all, good performance. Tracks back, has better vision, isn't afraid to shoot and crossing+Set-Pieces are very good tbh.
If he continues to improve and show these flashes of brilliance more consistently, I think he'll have a place in the squad next season.

Great to hear positive news on Vela.. We need him.. And why talks on Miquel going on loan when we are lacking in defence.. He can play lb or cb atleast in cup games... With all 4 cb filling the four slots and with only Squillaci left he is the second choice in any spot now..

Vela has caught my eye since moving to Sociedad. Always been a fan but it's just finding a position for him.

Joel Campbell has undoubted quality, and will be a good player in the future. Need to watch that video of him v Lyon.
