Re: Loan Watch Thread
Lansbury came on as a half-time sub for West Ham. He did well and won them the penalty that levelled the game 3-3.

Re: Loan Watch Thread
I watched the West Ham 3-3 Birmingham game, and Lansbury definitely had a big impact. He was everywhere. Missed a great chance to win it at the end though, he scuffed from edge of box.

What is your problem with Lansbury. He is a definite starter in the England U21's in an attacking role, (No10) at that. He's an Arsenal youth product.
That shows there's definitely some quqlity there.
He may not b Arsenal Starter level yet but I do think he could fight for a spot if given a chance at the club.

I think he means that Lansbury doesn't seem to be making any head way into the first team in the near future.. His recent contract extension seems to suggest otherwise, but he is still not playing for us and not a 'youth' any longer.

Re: Loan Watch Thread
Regardless of his first team situation, Lansbury is one of the more prominent players currently on loan and is easy for me to keep track off, hence why I "report" about him. Likewise, people are keeping track of Vela and Bendtner even though we know they're going to be sold in the summer.
If we were only interested in talents that'll make the first team, then you may as well rename the thread "Ryo Miyaichi watch".

Re: Loan Watch Thread
as long as they are our players, we keep updating about their progress. So please continue on the reports
speaking of which, vela scored another goal! 10th of the season. He now has more goals for sociedad than he did for arsenal in 3 years

Re: Loan Watch Thread
Vels playing well, because as people said before hes getting minutes and hes happy
no way is he gonna return to Arsenal to continue to sit on the bench, you can see how happy he is out there
a shame really...

I think wellington, campbell, afobe, and yennaris can make the first team if they work hard. Some may not be world class but they could be valuablle squad players at least

Re: Loan Watch Thread
He's certainly a natural in front of goal. From the first touch to the finish, everything about that goal was classy. And in a big game, too. To produce moments like that in the big definitely suggest he's a big talent.
I remember Vela displaying a similar level of talent at a similar age, only it was in an Arsenal shirt; granted, it was mostly against low-class opposition like Sheff. Utd and Wigan and not a the best national side in the world or the leaders of Ligue 1.
I hope he can get a work permit. If we can't one by conventional means, then surely he'd meet the criteria for "outstanding talent". The quicker he can get that permit, the quicker we can perhaps send him on loan to a Premier League side.

Re: Loan Watch Thread
He is already part of Costa Rica NT and has 10 caps now, so he should easily get a permit now...
but i would still like to see him on loan next season at Lower Table EPL Team next year

Vito Mannone
17 Championship apps / 9 clean sheets
Saturday: Watford v Hull (10th)
REPORT: Couldn't keep a clean-sheet,but was generally good. But with Mariappa being sent off,he had little to do.
Andrey Arshavin
4 Russian Premier League apps / 0 goals
Saturday: Zenit (1st) v CSKA Moscow
REPORT:Scored with an athletic shot off Kerzhakov’s cross in the 89th minute, after having been quiet coming on as a second half substitute.
Ryo Miyaichi
8 Premier League apps / 0 goals
Saturday 21st (next week): Bolton (18th) v Swansea
Yet to be played.
Nicklas Bendtner
24 Premier League apps / 7 goals
Saturday: Sunderland (11th) v Wolves
REPORT:Frustrating game for Nicklas Bendtner as he failed to score, with chances really hard to come by,as Sunderland crawled to another draw.
Henri Lansbury
18 Championship apps / 1 goal
Saturday: West Ham (3rd) v Brighton
REPORT:Had a very good game where he started and played for 90 minutes and would have opened the scoring for West Ham had his shot not hit the bar.But he managed to pull off a fortunate assist for Cole's goal,as West Ham slammed six past hapless Brighton.
Joel Campbell
18 Ligue 1 apps / 2 goals
Saturday: Lorient (18th) v Montpellier
REPORT:Scored a Henry-esque goal by cutting inside and curling the ball past the hapless GK,after showing some excellent close control.
SOME MORE REPORTS:
Benik Afobe came as a substitute for Reading and played for 13 minutes.Didn't have much chance of scoring as Reading were content to just move the ball around having sealed an emphatic 3-1 victory.
Sanchez Watt played the final ten minutes versus Wimbledon as his side came form behind to secure a draw.
Sead Hajrovic started and played 25 minutes versus Hereford before being substituted for eventual goal-scorer Ben May,as the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
And now to our La Liga loanees:
Pedro Botelho started for Levante versus Barca but had a torrid time as he was deemed to have fouled Cuenca, who actually went down very easily. The resulting penalty was slotted home by Messi.Ironically Cuenca fouled Pedro Botelho later in the match.
Wellington Silva played the last 30 minutes in his side's 1-0 home defeat.
Nicholas Yennaris and Rhys Murphy weren't in the squad for Preston and Notts County respectively.
Samuel Galindo and Chuks Aneke were unused substitutes for Gimnastic de Tarragona and Preston respectively.
