Shout Out to Joey Barton

Post by Guest on Thu Aug 18, 2011 12:22 am

I know the lad isn't liked and hasn't had the best of pasts...but he is trying his utmost best on twitter to get people to sign the Hillsborough petition for files to be revealed to public in the parliament.

The only footballer other than Kenny whom I've seen do it so far...also asking Piers Morgan, Rooney, etc to follow his act...very serious about it.

Fair play Joey and best of luck this season

It won't be long before he does something for me to hate him again.

He has certainly got his good moments and intentions, but it's just a pity that his bad moments can outweight the good ones.

Class by him.

Still a prick on field though.

The debate took place at the Parliament tonight.

Catch some of the speeches, they are on LFC site, moving stuff. some memorable quotes like "I'd never want LFC to win a single game I watch, but there are no set of finer fans in the world" by John Mann. Barton himself was at the Parliament and tears came in the end.

Everyone has asked for McKenzie to issue a public apology..it's tending on twitter.

the debate for 3 and a half hours

I watched the speeches last night and it was a very emotional and powerful delivery from Andy Burnham and Steve Rotheram. I was very moved by the whole speech especially when the names of the 96 were read out.

I just hope that the families can finally win their battle for justice and full disclosure will go a long way towards that. 22 years is just far too long. Its a real shame and a total embarrassment really.
