I think Alonso has grown even more into his role at Madrid this season,
he will be even more vital this season I feel.

I also think he still needs to play for Spain - Spain plays better without Xavi than without Alonso tbh.

But whenever I say this I get a wave of Barca and other fans screaming at me calling me a fanboy. I guess I am, but no one has ever giving me convincing proof that Xavi is indeed better than Alonso. If Alonso would play at Barcelona instead of Xavi, they would say the same.

Big difference between Ozil and Sneijder is that Ozil has much much much more brains than Sneijder. Sneijder is great, but stupid. Ozil is great and smart. And much younger.

Lol, I would say the difference is that Ozil is a more complete player, ie he can run at defenders and cross + playmake.

You say that because it's the face value of it.Watching Sneijder,his movement,his moves look very rigid an non-flamboyant,very tight.This of course associates you with stupidity,or players like Gattusso or Lassana Diarra.While Ozil's movement looks very fluid,free flowing and relaxed,which associates you with technique,or players like Pirlo or Kaka.

Sneijder is one of the most brilliant footballing brains in the world.Same can be said for Ozil,only Sneijder is the ultimate big match player,while Ozil will always be the one who shits himself.

Of course it is a shallow statement, but you don't speak Dutch, so you don't have to listen to him talk all the time on the television.

Also, of course he is a great player, he is not stupid in the field, although I do think his lack of intelligence in general shows through in his decision making. While he is a great builder etc. he is often too visible in doing so, because he tends to decide the wrong thing - i.e. go for his own spotlight- at the wrong moment, complicating matters.

I was just joking. Also, Sneijder is able to pass by defenders, imo.

That can be annoying.He'd rather pass when he has a finish from inside the box,but never misses a long shot opportunity no matter what's happening on the field.Wasn't like that under Mou...

While I don't agree that Özil is better than Sneijder (but has a higher potential) I can't agree that Özil ain't a big game player. Özil has showed now that he can perform when it most matters. He created the most chances for Real Madrid in the Supercopa, and he gave that wonderful cross to Benzema that was basicly a free header except Benzema sucks at it Smile
