You should have gotten it already. Shame on you! The Uncharted series is like Indiana Jones. It doesn't hurt to have seen every previous episode, but every new one has a new story and "fresh start" so to speak. So, yeah.. go buy it Wink

If you like to play online with friends or against other players, buy MW3. There's multiplayer in Uncharted 3 as well, but it's just not the same thing. If you don't care that much about playing online and enjoy playing solo campaign-type games, you'll have to pick between the other 3:

I haven't played Skyrim, but if you want a game with longevity and good re-play value, Skyrim is undoubtedly the one to pick. You should also take into consideration how much you enjoy RPG games, as opposed to adventure and FPS.

Arkham City and Uncharted 3 are puzzle/adventure games. I haven't played Arkham City, but they're both strong contenders for game of the year. If you're into this type of game, but aren't sure which one to get, ask around or just go with your gut feeling. Personally, I prefer Uncharted simply because Batman is too dark and noir-like, while Uncharted has more varied scenery and a generally lighter background. That's not as if to say that Uncharted 3 is the better game, though.

Arkham City and Skyrim should be the ones you choose between imo.......

Both easily the best games this year imho.

I think I decided on arkham city, but I was thinking if i should buy arkham asylum seeing as its pretty cheap as well?

should i get arkham city alone or both of them?

Well both games has a tiny connection (story wise) but both game is amazing good while Arkham City is better in every aspect

I suggest that you start with asylum first then city Very Happy

Killzone 3 is right up there as one of the best, if not, the best game to come out last year. Insanely good graphics, almost CGI like. Intense FPS shooter. Hooked on it atm.

Dont agree with you on Arkham City btw, it was my personal GOTY.

Gametrailers = Uncharted 3

IGN doesn't reveal until mid January

Joystiq = Portal 2

Kotaku = Portal 2

Spike as you said = Skryim

X-Play = Skyrim

Procrastination led me to look up Game of the Year on Wikipedia rather than do my homework. Forgive me if the information isn't 100% accurate but...I'm very sure it is. They have some really nice tables on that page though, worth looking at. RDR got a lot of awards Shocked

RDR deserved everything it recieved imo, one of best games i have ever played.......

When you dominate the awards in the same year as Mass Effect 2 you know its good......

Suprised at 2 winning nominations for Portal 2 btw, dont get me wrong its a quality game and a breathe of fresh air but theres been atleast 5 games that have been better IMHO.

I am willing to bet IGN chose Uncharted 3, Just because of how much they like it going by thier coverage and review.

I agree with the Portal 2 shenanigans here. I mean both portals are great and certainly-as you said- are a breath of fresh air compared to most games and I enjoyed them quite a bit.

However the game is a puzzle game and as a result, once you finish the great storyline and writing, humorous dialogue, there really is nothing more. And even that is overshadowed by the relatively quick completion time on both modes. I definitely did not spend more than 24 hours on the whole thing IMO- that is also with no help. And I'm glad that I never bought it because I probably never would have picked it up again.

Not saying it's a bad game, it's just...because of the nature of the game, it's lacking. It's great at what it does, but what it does is limited. And for me, for it to win Game of the Year, that's pretty ridiculous. Especially when you have games like Skyrim, Batman, and Gears in the races as well (won't comment on Uncharted, never even heard of the series as sad as that might sound)
