name 3 best players in history in your club & your international whether it is your opinion or it is official one

mine

club - boca juniors

1. Juan Roman Riquelme, number 10 (1995-02, 2007-?):

Only in Boca, and only for this remarkable playmaker, could Diego Maradona be relegated to second fiddle. In the Bombonera however it is Roman who rules the roost over the best player ever to step on a football pitch. Blessed with incredible control and vision and a right foot that seems trained to find a teammate no matter how unlikely the pass, Riquelme was voted the greatest player of Boca’s history in a recent poll.

2. Diego Maradona, number 10 (1981-82, 1995-97):

His time at the club may have been limited but it electrified fans who packed the Bombonera to see him, and it was at Boca where he picked up his first club honour. The 1981 national championship would prove to be one of many honours the controversial number 10 won in a sparkling career. Diego finished his career at his boyhood idols, and a tearful 1997 farewell to his fans and his “La pelota no se mancha” speech will go down in club folklore forever.

3. Martin Palermo, cf (1997-2000, 2004-11):

There are more elegant centre forwards, more consistent players and a lot more talented players who have worn the Boca strip; but not one typifies the sacrifice and loyalty that leads one to become a true club legend. Recently crowned the club’s highest ever scorer (and with a band of loyal fans which count every strike on a giant banner in the Bombonera), ‘El Titan’s’ incredible career shows no sign of ending even though the lumbering striker recently turned 37.

international - argentina

1. Diego Maradona:

Argentinean soccer was well on its tracks when Maradona started his playing career, as his national country won the 1978 World Cup for the first time in its history. But it was Maradona who truly brought Argentina in the Hall of Fame, with his incredible goals and intoxicatingly beautiful dribbles. His 1986 World Cup goal against England (that spectacular 60 meter speed burst through 6-7 opponents) is commonly referred to as the "Goal of the Century". It doesn't even really matter who the best footballer of all times is; Maradona or Pele. All that remains are the Argentinean soccer player's World Cup goals, his spectacular career and ultimately, another World Cup trophy on the desk of Argentine's soccer.

2. Gabriel Omar Batistuta:

Gabriel Batistuta had some huge shoes to fill when he was first selected for the Argentina squad, around the same time Maradona had retired. "Batigol" is still regarded as one of the best Argentine soccer players of all time. Batistuta spent most of his career playing for Fiorentina in Italy, at the end of his career becoming the eight top scorer of all times in the Italian league. His 56 goals in 78 matches for the Argentine national side also remains one of the highest goal/match ratios in the history of Argentinean soccer.

3. Daniel Passarela:

Most of the young and talented Argentinean football players usually start playing in Europe before having any real experience in their country's championships. This was not the case with Daniel Passarela, who spent most of his career playing for River Plate and despite his 6 years in Italy's Serie A, he is still considered legendary amongst River Plate and Argentinean fans. His national team career had ups and downs, his biggest "up" being, quite obviously, captaining Argentine to its first World Cup success in 1978 and lifting the trophy over his head. However, the following World Cups weren't very good for Passarela, who was sidelined by Argentine’s coach at their 1986 World Cup success. Although playing defender, Passarela had a scoring appetite and he held the record of "top scoring defender" for a long time with 134 goals in 451 matches

club - galatasaray - 3 best players in history

1. Gheorghe Hagi [1996-2001]

After he arrived to Galatasaray, the team went on to win 4 Turkish titles, 2 Turkish cups, an UEFA cup, and an UEFA super cup in five years. Hagi will always be known for his great technique with the ball, his amazing free kicks, and his very intelligent through passes. These three qualities allowed him to run amok in the Turkish league. Any fan of Turkish soccer, whether he be a Galatasarayli, Fenerli, or a Besiktasli will admit that Hagi is without a doubt the greatest foreign player ever in the Turkish league.

2. Hakan Sukur [1992-1995, 1995-2000, 2003-2008]

The best way to demonstrate Hakan’s greatness would be through the numbers. He has scored 249 goals in 480 games in the Turkish superleague, a little over a goal every two games. By doing so he has broken the record as the all-time leading scorer in the superleague. For the national team he has scored 51 goals in 103 games, a little less than a goal every two games. And again, by doing so he is the all time leading scorer for the national team. His trophy collection is similarily impressive; he has won 8 Turkish league titles, 6 Turkish cups, 9 extinct Turkish cups, 1 Italian Cup, and an UEFA cup. He is without a doubt the greatest CimBom striker of all time

3. Bulent Korkmaz [1984-2005]

In football there are a couple of players who would stay with their “birth team”, Paolo Maldini, Raul Gonzalez, Francsico Totti, to name a few. In Galatasaray they have Bulent. Bulent was born in Malatya, moved to Istanbul and entered the Galatasaray youth system first as a goal keeper but later began to play as a central defender. Bulent played over 1000 matches for Galatasaray, and in the process won a record 29 trophies including one UEFA Cup, one UEFA Super Cup, 8 league titles and 6 domestic cups. He is the legendary “Buyuk Kaptan”, the “Great Captain”. He was a fiery player who played with great courage and desire in every match. Despite clubs such as Lazio and Blackburn Rovers offering great sums of cash to sign him, Bulent rejected all of their offers, stating “Galatasaray is already a big club in Europe”. He always said that Galatsaray was his home even though his yearly salary never exceeded 1.3 million dollars.

club - villarreal - 3 best players in history

1. Juan Román Riquelme

Riquelme is one of the most recognizable figures associated with Villarreal CF. He is regarded as a talented player with excellent field vision, and often noted as the main factor in Villareal's explosive 2005 campaign, with 15 goals and 11 assists. At the end of that season, Spanish sports newspaper Marca awarded him the title for Most Artistic Player above the Zidane & Ronaldinho which also on top form.

2. Diego Forlán

He was the top marksmen in club history (in the Primera). Forlán shared the European Golden Boot award in his first season with the club and brought an uncanny flair for the game with him from Montevideo. Watching him bang in the goals (54 in 106 appearances- a great strike rate) and celebrate them with unbridled joy was a treat, and he did the club that resuscitated his career a final favor by commanding a record transfer fee from Atlético. Pure class.

3. Marcos Senna

Senna is known for his passing range and long shooting and is also a penalty specialist. He provided balance and a defensive snarl to those Pellegrini sides, but in Riquelme’s absence, he has spent more time in the attacking half. And some of the Argentine’s free-kick magic must have rubbed off. Despite being plagued by a balky right hamstring over the past few seasons, Senna now is the club’s all-time appearances leader (at 223 and counting).

club - river plate (my biggest rival) - 3 best players in history

1. Enzo Francescoli - cf (1983-86, 1994-97):

Quite simply one of the best players ever to play in South America, ‘El Principe’s’ two River spells coincided with two runs of brilliant success for the Millo, and players from Zinedine Zidane to Pele have recognized his grace and poise on the ball and eye for goal. Enzo missed out on River’s first Libertadores triumph in 1986 after being transferred to Racing Paris shortly before; there would be no denying him in 1996 though, and playing with the new generation of stars such as Marcelo Salas, Matias Almeyda and Crespo, the 34 year old led them to success for the second time.

2. Ubaldo Fillol - gk (1974-83):

Nicknamed ‘El Pato’ (the Duck), Fillol is considered, along with fellow Millo idol Amadeos Carrizo one of the greatest goalkeepers in Argentine history, and just beats out the legend of La Maquina for our number one jersey. Fillol helped end River’s 18-year wait for a title in 1975, and would add six more to the trophy cabinet in his Monumental stay as well as lifting the World Cup in 1978 as a Millonario.

3. Daniel Passarella - cb (1974-82, 1988-89):

‘El Kaiser’, ‘El Gran Capitan’: no praise was too high for this true River legend. Despite only standing 1.73m tall Passarella was a talisman in defence for River and Argentina, and as coach the star would add three more titles to the six he won as a player in the Monumental, the stadium he now oversees as club president.

I am going to agree completely with this list btw mate im pretty sure some of Milburn's goals were from non-competitive appearances due to the war?

Which is why most people consider Shearer the all time top goalscorer.

Yeah I was just reading up on that, I wondered why Wiki said Milburn had more goals than Shearer.

International- uruguay from what I've seen..

1. Diego Forlan- A leader the miracle man. A thunderous shot. he stepped it up playing as a playmaker in the world cup. Socring all the right goals. Beautiful strikes led Uruguay to 4th place. First Uruguayan to be awarded the golden ball. Monsterous left his heart in the worlc cup.

Luis Suarez-Class,Power,pace magic. What doesnt this kid have. He proved he has everything needed to be world class with the handball. he will be the greatest uruguayn player in history.

Paolo montero- Caudillo, the best uruguayan defender i have seen. Quick, with class. Not afraid to Flip you over if has too. Picaro como la puta madre. But he's classy and the ball came out of his feet playing.

1. Cuauhtemoc Blanco

The eternal N.10 of the National Team. Techncally Gifted, with Excellent Finishing and and an Excellent Pass. His higlight came at the 98 World Cup where he was the star man of the team. Slayed Brazil in the 1999 and also won the Golden Shoe of the same tournament.

2. Luis Hernandez

El Matador was his name as his style was similar to that of Mario Kempes. Also had his highlight in the 1998 World Cup. The spark that helped Mexico perform in that World Cup scoring some wonderfull goals against the Titans of Football.

Probably Mexico's best ever Defender. Has won it all at Club Level with Monaco and Barcelona. A Technically Gifted Defender who has scored from Set Pieces whether as the taker or recipient.

i wasnt really thinking about individual talents when i first chose my list, just how much an individual player has given to the club. imo it speaks bigger volumes

club - fiorentina - 3 best players in history

1. Gabriel Omar Batistuta

Batistuta's Fiorentina first season = 13 goals
His 2nd season = 16 goals
In the end, 269 appearances, 168 goals
Won Serie B: 1993-94, Coppa Italia: 1995-96, Supercoppa Italiana: 1996

2. Kurt Roland Hamrin

Hamrin was best known as goal scoring winger with incredible dribbling ability. He joined Fiorentina in 1958 until 1967, playing 289 Serie A games and scoring 150 goals. While at Fiorentina, he won the Coppa Italia in 1961 and 1966.

3. Rui Manuel César Costa

Despite the heavy competition with the best midfielders in that time such as Zinedine Zidane, Costa was named the best number 10 player in the Serie A a few times. His departure from Fiorentina was discussed every season, since many clubs constantly showed interest in signing him. However, he only left when Fiorentina went bankrupt after the 2001-02 season.

Ok, it would appear that you're a fan of Casillas. Razz

Talent wise I always thought there were people better than him, Buffon and Kahn for example, meanwhile there was pretty much nobody better than Ronaldo and Zidane.

redondo as well of course. but if i had to choose three. my list stands.

and @aford though i do agree khan edges iker, iker's story is still yet to be told he is only 29, the best is yet to come imo. on the topic of buffon-> imo iker has dethroned buffon and has more time to reign as best keeper.

and comparing a field player such as zidane and ronaldo to iker is always difficult. i think it could go either way, i just particularly fall on the side of iker.

Ill do a top 3 for Juve and Koln and a top 5 for Italy and Germany, as those are my favorite teams.

Juventus:
1. Alessandro Del Piero: The Juventus icon. I dont think I need to explain this one.
2. Roberto Baggio: My favorite player. In my opinion the most talented player Juventus ever had, and one of the best of all time.
3. Claudio Marchisio: He not a legend. YET. Im willing to bet in 10 years hell be considered among the all time best Juventus and Italian players without a doubt.

FC Koln:
1. Dieter Muller: One of the best strikers Germany everhad, and its a shame he was never given much of a chance, although he did get 12 callups, and in just that, he managed to score 9 goals. That is incredible. A shame hes soforgotten by so many.
2. Lukas Podolski: The prince of Koln, and a future great. World class player who doesnt get nearly enough credit.
3. Klaus Allofs: Great german striker who is another forgotten one, but that doesnt matter to me because he was a quality striker.

Italy:
1. Roberto Baggio: The best italianplayer to ever live without a doubt in my opinion. Often underratedbecause of that PK, butthat doesnt take away from his class.
2. Paolo Maldini: Best italian defender of all time andone of the best defenders ever. Theres simply no overlooking the Milan legend.
3. Alessandro Del Piero: Theres no ddoubting the. Juve legends class. Class on and off the pitch, and one of the best in his prime. Really deserver a Ballon Dor.
4. Gaetano Scirea: If theres one defender who can challenge Maldini for that 2nd spot only behind Beckenbauer, its Scirea. Along with Gentile they were inpenetrable.
5. Francesco Totti: Really wears his heart on his sleeve, whether it helped him or hurt him and I admire that. Even though he and Del Piero are rivals (and friends), I still have great respect for him.

Germany:
1. Franz Beckenbauer: The best defender the world has ever known,do I really have to explain this one? I dont think so.
2. Gerd Muller: The best target man the world has ever known. Again, I dont think I need to explain this.
3. Lothar Matthaus: One of the greatest midfielders of all time, possibly the greatest. Im a big fanof his style as well as how he alwaysput the team first.
4. Oliver Kahn: A real team leader one way or another and in my opinion the best goalkeeperever. Really loved his reckless, neversaydie attitude.
5. Lukas Podolski: As a Koln fan, Im a big fannof Poldi and with Bayern and Leverkusen beingtwo of our biggest rivals, icant put Ballack or Lahm here. But I think Poldi deserves it. Hes often overlooked and underrated and people are quick to forget howhe was rate above Ronaldo and Messi in the 06 WC. Hes not above them anymore, but hesstill world class and has consistently been throughout the years. Awesome player.

club - valencia - 3 best players in history

1. David Villa

Arguably thе world’s best striker, Villa played fοr Los Che frοm 2005 tο 2010, scoring аn impressive 108 goals іn 166 appearances. Hе wаѕ top scorer οf Euro 2008, scored 5 goals іn helping Spain win thе 2010 World Cup аnd hаѕ scored 44 fοr public, tied wіth thе legendary Raul.

Villa won thе hearts οf Valencia’s fans аnd although wе wουld hаνе lονеd tο keep hіm, thе financial debt forced ουr hand. Villa now plays fοr Barcelona аnd hе’s continuing hіѕ impressive form, leading thе offensive arsenal οf arguably thе world’s best club.

2. Santiago Cañizares

Thе platinum flaxen, ex- Real Madrid ‘keeper wаѕ a rock іn thе net, playing іn over 300 matches fοr Los Che. Hе won 4 Zamora trophies аѕ best goalie іn thе public, played іn 46 internationals wіth Spain аnd hаd іt nοt bееn fοr аn unfortunate aftershave bottle incident іn 2002, ѕtаrtеd thе World Cup fοr La Furia Roja.

Whіlе many οf hіѕ acrobatic saves сουld bе listed аѕ hіѕ best moment іn thе Valencia shirt, thе one thаt stands out іѕ thе tears hе shed аftеr bringing up thе rear thе Champions League final tο Bayern Munich οn penalties іn 2001.

Thе emotion hе ѕhοwеd captivated many fan’s hearts. Hе ѕhοwеd hіѕ devotion fοr thе club аnd thе fans whο suffered wіth thе team. Hе’s truly a VCF legend.

3. Roberto Ayala

Defense carried Valencia tο two league championships аnd two successive Champions League finals early іn thе decade.

Thе rock іn thе middle οf thе defense wаѕ Ayala, whο recently retired. Hе captained Argentina more times thаn anyone еlѕе (63 times) аnd hіѕ solid play іn thе middle meant opposing offenses hаd tο bе creative tο score against Valencia. Hе wаѕ a rіght guilty pest. Thеу don’t mаkе defenders lіkе Ayala anymore.
