Almost time for tough decision for Mou

Benzema or Higuain?
It is clear that Mourinho will have to choose betwen those two and leave rotatiton in one point of the season. He said it himself, and that moment is coming.
Who do you think he will choose?
Higuain was always relialble goalscorer for Real Madrid. He is consistent and great finisher. This year he is even better. If you pack him a chance be sure he will score a lot of a goals.
Benzema on the other hand is completely renew player under Mou. He isn't just return his form from Lyon days, now he is at least 2 times better. His all round play has flourished, he runs more, and he is far more lethal and plays with real confidence.
Asuming that Mourinho will play with one striker in that game, El Classico is refernce point. Altough i rate Higuain high i think Benzema will make the cut because of his creativity and his link up play.

Why drop either of them?
1. Higuain 1.61 goals/assists per played 90 min
2. Benzema 1.47 goals/assists per played 90 min
3. Cronaldo 1.44 goals/assists per played 90 min

Di Maria might not be back for the Clasico and he's pivotal if we're to play our regular 4-2-3-1, since he brings alot of work rate and hustle in defense. I'd play a 4-3-3 in El Clasico without Di Maria, but that means neglecting Özil. If Sahin were in form he wild be perfect as the third midfielder with Xabi and Khedira. But he'll prolly not be ready. So I'd put Marcelo or Coentrao as the third midfielder. But knowing Mou, it might be Lass who gets the nod:

And btw, as we saw this week against Zagreb, Mou were able to use both Higuain and Benzema from start even thou it was a game that was used for resting players. Thanks to the fact that both are much fresher than other starters since they share playing time. This will probably be done on several occassions when Ronaldo is rested. And if Ronaldo gets injured both Benzema and Higuain will start every time.
I don't think anybody feels neglected at the time, they bring different styles to the table and they are both very important.
Madrid will have a big advantage when/if semi finals of CL comes, since we'll have two fresh WC strikers to pick from.

I wont go into the who is better argument, but rotating both is the best thing to do. we are going to compete for all trophies in the next years, so a CF getting a knock for us cant be a set back. Even if he has to chose one, someone else will come in to compete.

People have misinterpreted that Mourinhio quote....he dosen't ean that he's going to pick one permanently as a starter and pick one permanently as a sub.......he just means that when an important game comes along he is willing to abandon the rotation system and pick the most in form player.

Yeah... but to be fair, Benz and CR7 played all the tougher CL games and Valencia. Not Higuain's fault as the rotation has just worked out that way. But he hasn't played the big games yet.

If they both continue on this form, Benz will probably play against Barca. So Higuain will get a bit pissed I guess, but a long term solution is the best.
If we could play Cristiano-Higuain-Benzema and rotate each one of them a lot (like each ST plays 2/3 and Ronaldo plays 3/4 of something), it would be perfect. Only the stuff of dreams Im afraid though, it probably wouldnt work on the pitch either.
