BS move if you ask me.What if this guy turns out to be a beast for us ,we won't be able to keep him..

Also there are so many other talented CB's out there that we could move for..

I dunno. Savic hasn't looked all that bad when he's had a look in with City so far and he was Partizan's best defender last season as well. There was a reason why we were looking at him first when we were still trying to tie up a deal for Burdisso as well as when we thought the Kjaer move would collapse.

As for Garay, he's been pretty solid for Getafe, the few times he played for Madrid and for Benfica, or so I've heard. I haven't seen play much for the latter so I can't really judge him on current form though.

Ultimately, I think we need to be looking a permanent deal for a CB...Savic on loan is a band-aid fix imo....which is not what we need. We have one 30-year old out for 6 months and another 32-year old who is clearly struggling for fitness and may not be a Roma player by the end of the season...we've got to start thinking long term and dropping 10m on Garay would be a step in that direction. That said, Benfica just bought him from Madrid this summer. It's highly unlikely they'll let him move on so quickly.

It's a good move, cuz in January you wont get any better defender on loan.If the player is happy in Rome, maybe we can make a deal, you never know.

Neverles im happy with this move, since Burdisso is gone, fresh blood is welcomed ..

i used to live in serbia so i have a thing for yugo players. but in this case, savic's wages are too expensive for his age. if he joins us, he'd have to take a pay cut, which i'm not sure he's willing to do

especially if we sign him long term, his wages will only get higher per each contract renewal

just throwing this out there, but maybe we can get santana or subotic from dortmund. they're both equally good (santana's been improving alot this season) and dortmund doesn't really need 3 upandcoming centerbacks. santana can be our next juan

We missed our chance to get Santana last season imo when Subotic and Hummels were beasting and he was warming the bench.

Now that Subotic is out for a while, Dortmund would have no depth at CB if we try and get Santana. They won't be letting him go. As for Subotic...only way I see that happening is if Santana completely usurps him as Hummels' CB partner and he in turn is relegated to the bench....either way, we're probably not going to get either one of those guys anytime soon.

If we're looking for Juan's successor, I'd take Geromel over Santana in a heartbeat....he's also injured though at the moment.

The only time City played Savic was away at QPR and he was at fault for one of the two goals City conceded except the goal incident he was poor overall.

I think we should hold on to Juan.

Juan was good today, no need to sell him unless a sudden drop in performances happens.

I'm gonna say it, again.

We should have bought Silvestre, he was offered to us for 8 million in the summer..But apparently we told them we didn't have that type of money...

Diego Godin anyone? Strong, good on the ball. We would face competition from Chelsea though.

So very unlikely...

Garay is fairly injury prone, so while I'd love to see another Argentine in ArgenRoma he wouldn't be the right person to go for in this moment.
