I thought North America was a continent, and South America was a seperate continent. As far as I know, America doesn't exist.

There's the United States of America, South America, and North America.

from what i have heard and read there are many places in south and central america where they consider them as one Continent.....not sure if it's true or not

That is indeed true. America is a continent. I propose we eradicate the use of "American" to refer to a country

I agree to that, but I doubt United Stateers (they should be called that, BTW) would agree to it, since they are the center of America and the Universe itself.

Everything else is Latinos, Hispanics and Mexicans, which is ironic considering the country's roots.

Oh, and Canadians.

I propose we form the American Alliance, based of the EU, but better. Our mighty economy and massive oil supplies will fuel the revolution.

it's because people from USA call themselves Americans.... while calling all the others from their continent by their countries....


from what i have heard my central american and south american call themselves "American" too....


it's like calling someone from Asia, Asian and someone from Europe European.....etc.....

People just call the U.S. America sometimes and it's people Americans.
