Thoughts on City Pre Napoli at Home.

"They have a squad as good as Barcelona, they're definitely one of the favourites".

Thoughts on City After Napoli away.

"Well its only their first season, they're inexperienced in this competition".

On the bright side they predicted Villareal being the whipping boys of the group way back in August the day of the draw

Everyone said: "typical english media"

But then they became the first Spanish side ever to finish the group stages with 0 points banana

While watching the United I swear one commentator kept on referring to United as "we". I didn't catch his name. but damn. I hope he played for United.

It wasn't Gary Neville.

I said to my brother that if City failed to qualify, they wouldn't get anywhere near the same amount of criticism as Arsenal, Chelsea or United would if the same happened to them. Looks like I was right.

Most of our pundits aren't unique in their opinions, and don't offer good, constructive opinions on things. They just follow the trends. I can only think of a couple of pundits that actually offer something decent.

Arsenal, Chelsea, United have all been there before...Even Chelsea has been in the CL how many times just since 03/04?

This is City's first appearance no? and they were put in the group of death?

Hardly deserves as much criticism as United tossing up a clunker when all they needed to do was beat a Swiss team...Especially given the fact that they are reigning runners-up and have such a history in the competition...

Not sure what you're getting at there

All I keep hearing from these English pundits is that it's City's first season in the Champions League and yet they fail to realize that it's Napoli's first season in it as well...

The excuse that it's City's first year doesn't hold up, when you actually look at the players in their team:

Clichy
Kompany
Yaya Toure
David Silva
Nasri
Aguero
Dzeko

They've all been in the Champions League before. Clichy and Nasri have been in quarter-finals and semi-finals, Toure has won it, Aguero won the Europa League. Plus Mancini how many games has Mancini managed in the Champions League? A lot.

Napoli are a team with much less European experience, let alone Champions League experience, but still managed to qualify.

The group of death excuse I accept, but the lack of experience I do not.
