Re: I will not watch El Classico
So then how can you make claims and stereotypes that "we" aren't knowledgable?
If you really knew anything about Canada, u'd know there are plenty of fans for all sorts of sports, with much diversity

Re: I will not watch El Classico
Thats complete nonsense! I live in Toronto when I'm not studying in Kingston. Obviously, there a huge pockets of hockey fans as even I am a diehard for the leafs. Might I also point out that many of the people that I know a discuss football with live in Toronto and know quite a bit. You're obviously blind to this side of town, but I can see where this generalization can be made. Go to the East-york area and You'll see what I'm talking about, or even little Italy or Old Italy, you think over there they are really pre-occupied with Hockey?!
Making generalizations makes you out to be the 'bacala' you claim others are.

Ask Rogers and Bell then when they purchased 75% of the MPSE's

Re: I will not watch El Classico
I fail to see the connection, as they own rights to TFC, and promote soccer.

I guess you didn't see their press conference.
They claimed.
That their main objective is to forful all Hockey fans around Canada(as the leafs have the biggest fan base) and make them Stanley Cup champions since 67'
Also, to make LEAF FANS, more interactive with both Bell and Rogers Television networks.
Now in saying this, they also claimed how Basketball is a growing sport arond the world and that the Raptors will benefit from this.
Oh right, no mention with TFC... why because that is last in their mind. It's not important as they look at thier other sports.

Re: I will not watch El Classico
you should go to a TFC game one day and see the passion the fans have for the team, they chant, they sing and they celebrate goals just as much as, if not more, than the big powerhouses, bar England.
You speak about ownership, but ownership doesnt tell whether the country has knowledge about the game
You are a troll, a very bad troll, go back to your hole

You don't get it do you? The reason why I said that to that guy was because he insulted Juve, now claiming this, does not mean you or anyone in general. It's just that in Canada, seeing that I've been there for a long time, not to mention I know how sports function in the country it's just incredible.
In fact did you know, in Canada that most youth sport played is Soccer, and yet Canada... Soccer is not even in the top 3 in sports?
Its'
1) LaCrosse
2) Hockey
3) Basketball
Why? because Although a majority play the sport, the other majority don't take it serious. Now that being said, those also playing the sport, don't really know about the Football in depth. How do I know? Because if their were really that many football viewers in Canada, Rogers and Bell would of made it serious for more interactive viewership for it's consumers in watching TFC games, but it's not happening.

Anyway to OP just make sure you don't miss the post-match drama. I'm hoping a new meme, probably from mole, will be born

Sportsnet have the ELP, and by the way does not get many viewers as expected. Not to mention showed the World Cup, but guess what, I read a report that not many people lived up to the expecations of watching the world cup in Canada. Not to mention Champions, and TFC.
Fox Sports World? Yeah that only show Serie A, and low class leagues.
TSN? Just champions league...
GoalTV? The Canadian Channel, hardly shows anything
TheScore, Only Serie A, in which they only got this year.
But every country is like this.
You compare it to Italy, you got for example.
3 Channels already showing one game.
You got Roma-Juve that will be in 3D
and right now, there is a total of 20 Football channels, and in Canada only three... in which only ONE focuses on soccer.

Re: I will not watch El Classico
lacross isnt the most followed sport...shows your knowledge
and secondly, there is a huge reason both tsn and the score put footie on...because theres a demand
effectively showing to you that Canadians know a bit more than you give them credit for
obviously Canada can't compete with a football crazed Italy, its because theres a lot of other sports that are popular

Re: I will not watch El Classico
You are so ignorant you know that?
Lax is Canada's national sport, it is this way because it was more popular than hockey 100 years ago...
the Toronto rock have the best team in their league for five years running, and they cant fill half their stadium, nor is it even televised....
know your facts before arguing with me about my city

Giova', e la madonna... it's like a surprise for you.
I'm an arrogant and ignorant person, that's who I'am. You're late on that bro, I've admitted this many times.
It's a national sport, which ranks it first. Plain and simple.

Re: I will not watch El Classico
I'm not sure if I'm annoyed or pleased that an El Clasico thread has somehow come to involve LaCrosse.
In any case, I'm locking this completely pointless discussion.
