Who is Cristian Zapata?

Is this guy any good ?
He is quoted on Sky Sports saying he'll sign a deal with #LFC after Copa...It's the first time ever I hear his name, but then again I only watch English football

It's a colombian CB, he plays for Udinese. Very good player, he is finally having his breakthrough, one of the best in serie A last season. Still has a lot of work to become world class but he has potential

Interesting Nick. I visited official site forum, and one guy reckons his style is like Kolo Toure when he used to be good. Really hope he has some pace to burn...just shows you media is guesswork 90% of the time...links you with likes of Cahill, Dann, Jones, etc all the time...to end up with Zapata

though may i correct nick, he is usually played as a full back, at least whenever i saw him play he was playing as RB and he very much ventured forward to attack. He has a nasty shot and plays with flair plus he is good at attacking and defending kind of like dani alves.

Very good player over the past few years for Udinese. Well rounded player who this season has played extensively in a 3 man backline, but does have years behind him in a back 4 at CB and RB if needed.

Zapata has been one of the best CBs in Serie A this season. Very good player over the past few seasons but this season was his best yey. Was a rock at back for Udinese and was one of their most important players and without him, they would never have qualified to the Champions League. He is also versatile, can play as a RB when needed. You can check out his performance in the Copa America, plays for Colombia.

Liked him for a while. When we were talking of potential CB targets from Madrid a few months back, i brought him up because he's so athletic.
Udinese has a heck of a team btw.

He's an awesome defender definitely one of the best in Serie A id argue he was the best last year behind Thiago Silva...

The heck of a team is gonna be history soon. Inler is going to Napoli, Sanchez is going to the highest bidder among Barca, Man Utd and man City, Zapata is going to Liverpool, Isla also might leave and so might Asamoah. Only Di Natale is probably going to stay next season out of the stars.
Udinese's loss will be Liverpool's gain, Zapata is a great CB.
