In fact, halfway through September in 2003, Arsenal tried to take him. The player's environment encouraged it, but they couldn't convince him to go. Arsenal then refocused their energy on Cesc, a 'culebron' (complicated and polemic very public transfer) that is well known by all. Also during that same month Manchester United tried to take him, although that move didn't go past the inquiry. In October, Inter Milan tried, through Luis Suarez, and offered him an important offer for Leo to move his football to Milan, it was unsuccessful.

A few FA and Carling cups are a must.
Perhaps a league... and if Arsenal won a league back then, perhaps it would be a totally different club than it is now. Too many variables come into play. Messi might not want to have left, Arsenal winning trophies and all.
And maybe he would have been good for the NT :lucas:

Good for the NT? Most every EPL star flopped in the WC, they should extend their breaks :lucas:

Jesus, imagine how burnt out Messi would be in the PL. I can see the Arsenal injury curse hitting him, and maybe he wouldn't be as good a player as he is now due to constant injuries from fatigue and overexertion.

messi isnt that injury prone, i havent seen him get any sort of serious injury for 3 seasons
he couldve given them an edge in cup competitions and maybe won the 2008 or 09 league title

Messi was known to be injury prone early in his career.

It would have been Messi instead of Eduardo on the end of that tackle back in 08 that pretty much ended Edu's career
Too gruesome to even think about

Cant tell until messi actually plays for a normal team. How he would adapt to being the only outstanding player on his team i dont know, he hasnt done it for argentina yet, i think perhaps because he lacks leadership

messi was kind off injury-prone pre guardiola so imagine messi with arsenals injury crisis
he would still be the same player though, wenger is probably the best man to devolop youth

How about both??
Fabregas and Messi..
Walcott would still be at Southampton.

It was work permit issues in the end.
But as they say, things happens for a reason. Messi was destined for Barca

He would've got the "Arsenal injury curse"!
Then he juz would've played 5-10 times a season, and we'd feck up his career and none of us would've witness his wonderful talent
