Credit to Dnmac4....he's stayed off the Kool Aid!!!

This England team stinks.

Easily the worse we've had.

Another enjoyable game there. As I said very over hyped after a good performance against an Italy side who never got out of 2nd gear.

Didn't comment on this thread for this reason alone. I don't know what respect we deserved after losing against Italy. We are not Congo(no disrespect) that we need respect for playing well for 40 minutes at best. We deserved nothing after the Italy game, nor we deserve anything after tonight.

The performance versus Italia whether loss or not deserves acclaim as not only it WAS a good performance but represented a breakthrough in many facets to which England have not had in years. The Italian media thought so and many neutrals alike. Uruguay's loss should not obscure the perspective that it was not a good performance as quite frankly England were unlucky.

Tonight is different yet performance vs Italia remains a separate entity.

And Congo is 84th in the FIFA ranking and climbing fast. I wouldn't count them out.

People will troll, but the fact is the team that played tonight was night and day between the Italy performance and tonight.

Tonight was typical England bullshit and why i couldn't care less about the England team for years, Italy was promising.

I really can't be arsed explaining why, but the group thread explains it all.

This team has potential, but when you have a past it player barely protecting the defence, the team is going to concede and play poorly overall.

Gerrard has killed this England team the same way he had killed Liverpool's title hope.

I think Hodgson tried to put all the in form Liverpool players on the pitch together but the players had not really had time to play in that system and become accustomed to it and each other. The performance against Italy was promising but you can only do so much at the last minute. Now perhaps they can practise playing the way they played against Italy with a little change in personnel but most importantly get used to playing like that for two years continuously before Euro 2016 comes over.

England are on the verge of producing another Golden Generation. The talents coming in are better than we have had in years.

Roy is not the manager for them to flourish. We can't waste another golden generation. Not saying we should be winning the WC or Euros though, but we should not be doing constantly bad for 4 years in a row.

Get a good manager, doesn't matter if he is foreign. And use the upcoming talent for good.

Whats this "Liverpool Blueprint" you speak of? How to toss a 3 goal lead away at Crystal Palace? The Liverpool blueprint was the guy smashing in the goals for URUGUAY.

Hodgson nice guy, totally out of his depth and Euro 2016 will consist of the next English failure Redknapp leading us to another inglorious first round exit.

Rinse and repeat.

England always has had fantastic players, and indeed are producing more fantastic players as we speak.
Their FA and management are just not up for it, combined with a TOXIC media environment.

Boy, shocking.

Why anyone thought this England team would go into Brazil and beat Uruguay is beyond me.

And guess what, get ready for some CONCACAF action because Costa Rica is going to blow the doors off this team.

A week from now with the media pounding England all week and the team out drinking and not caring anymore, wow watch what happens when they try to deal with Costa Rica's speed.

That game will get seriously ugly. There is absolutely nothing special about this England team what so ever. They have 1 or 2 nice young players but so does everyone else. The difference is outside of Sterling who BTW had a bad tournament but is a good player the England players are totally overrated.

I laughed when I saw the starting lineup today.

A back four of Baines, Jagielka, Johnson and Cahill is laughable in this climate and against the players there facing. BTW did they even knock down Suarez one time or go in on him hard to make him think about his injury or maybe get him off the field?

Between him and Pirlo I don't think there was one single tone setting tackle on either one of them. People kept on saying England and Italy were even, no not even close. Italy would have and will murder Suarez all game long to see if that leg would hold up. It's just a totally different mindset and better players.

In the midfield Henderson I've never really gotten all the hype about, I guess he fits well in Liverpool's system but other than that I'm not really sure why he starts and Gerrard was never going to be some rock star in this tournament unless they had a bunch of PK's for him to take.

Attacking wise Sterling, Sturridge, Rooney and Welbeck are a good solid front line. Most of them could be on any national team. They just have no way to get the ball to them. My god was the England team SLOW trying to work the ball up to there actual class players.

I mean Uruguay is slow and England still looked dead slow compared to them.

Some of you need to get it through your mind just because you like these players and play for some of your favorite teams they are overrated, system dependent and they are the most pampered bunch of players in the world. You get them uncomfortable and they really underwhelm.

It's not a coincidence NONE OF THEM will play in a league outside of the EPL. In fact has anyone seen any of these players do anything outside of playing for there EPL teams?

What is 'golden generation'? Getting to the quarters sometimes, not qualifying for tournaments and always looking out of their depth?
That's my lasting impression of Englands last 'Golden' Generation.

I just don't see it in Barkely, Sterling, Sturridge, Henderson, Welbeck, Lallana and Chamberlin.

Maybe I'm being way too quick to judge, but I don't see these guys being as good as Lampard, Gerrard, Rio, Terry, Cole, etc and they are probably destined for the same fate as their predecessors.

Golden generation is something when you can field multiple would class players in the team... Like in the 2006 world cup. Current crop ...I don't see most of them reaching that level.
