City ready to sell Balotelli
Roberto Mancini is preparing to wash his hands of the Italian following latest embarrassment involving the prostitute who was also linked with Manchester United's Wayne Rooney
Manchester City have finally lost patience with their controversial striker Mario Balotelli and are ready to sell him this summer with Inter and AC Milan willing to bring him back to Italy.
City’s desire to keep hold of the 21-year-old has been further weakened by Balotelli’s revelation on Wednesday afternoon that he has had a fling with the same escort who was previously involved with Wayne Rooney.
Although the club regard what the forward’s agent, Mino Raiola, described as a "brief involvement" with call-girl Jenny Thompson to be a private matter, it heaps further embarrassment on City at a time when they are already reeling from damaging headlines instigated by the forward.
Such is the club’s exasperation with Balotelli, one source told Goal.com on Wednesday that the player is "drinking in the last chance saloon" at the Etihad Stadium.
Balotelli, who joined City from the Rossoneri's rivals Inter for £23.5 million in the summer of 2010, is a boyhood fan of Milan and has said that his ambition is to play up front with Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
City manager Roberto Mancini has made no attempt to hide his exasperation at the controversial striker’s increasingly erratic behaviour.
He criticised the Italy international following the club’s 3-3 draw with Sunderland last Saturday even though the attacker scored twice, admitting that he thought about subbing the player "after five minutes" because of his attitude.
Balotelli clashed with Yaya Toure for the second time in a month after the game and has previously been involved in training ground fights with Jerome Boateng and Micah Richards.
"Mario played like I said about him before the game," Mancini stated. "He can do nothing, like he did today for 70 minutes, but then score two goals.
"I don’t like it when he plays like this. Mario has everything to do his job well but he doesn’t understand very well his situation. In a game like this, the striker should be the difference. Not in the last two or three minutes, but before.
"Mario and [Edin] Dzeko should have scored two or three goals in a game like this."
When asked if he had considered substituting Balotelli, Mancini continued: "We had only Carlos [Tevez] on the bench. I thought about this after five minutes."
Twenty-four hours earlier, Mancini had admitted that it was impossible to trust the Italian. "No, I don’t trust Mario," he conceded. "No-one trusts Mario."
Goal.com revealed in January that City still owe Inter around a quarter - £5.8m - of the £23.5m fee for Balotelli's transfer.
Although it is the club's normal practice to pay the entirety of transfers up front – a condition of Samir Nasri’s £23m move from Arsenal was that City paid the money in one instalment – they did not do so with the Balotelli dea

Mancini should focus on how to keep his job. Who says he will be around for the summer.

Re: City ready to sell Balotelli
yeah sell balo and use the money to buy torres
nah but i dont think theres many other managers who could keep a lid on balo as well as mancini has, afterall (im pretty sure) it was him who bought him through the ranks at inter and balo and under mancini has been more level headed then balo under mou although you could put pthat down to the crowd becomeing pretty hostile towards him under mou
still who says its going to be mancinis choice to sell him, imo if he cant win the league this season hes gonna get the sack

Re: City ready to sell Balotelli
I can see why Balo would think screw this tbh.
Balo does nothing scores two goals.
Dzeko does nothing, scores nothing.
"Balo didnt play well enough"

Re: City ready to sell Balotelli
Guidetti is back tho and this is what he had to say:
LOL the guy is so arrogant, but then again he summed up Dzeko there lol
"ill ask them, what are your plans for me??? if they tell me they want me to be one of the 4 forwards i will tell them they have to give me a proper contract with a proper shirt number to show that they count on me otherwise i wont be fighting on equal terms.
if Dzeko has the number 10 and me the number 65 and he earns 10 million and me 2, ill never get to play regardless of how well i do.
If they want me to be part of the strikers they have to show it to me otherwise ill tell them i want to leave thank you, if they don't want to release me i can just go on loan again for a year after that ill be free to go as my contract ends then"

Wrong: No.
I think he summed up the selection process pretty well there. He would have to be, in reality, twice as good as Dzecko in order to be perceived as nay better than the more established striker. Such is the curse of being the perceived up-and-coming in nearly every competitive activity.

Re: City ready to sell Balotelli
Best goals to minute ratio in the PL for anyone with more 10 goals
There's clearly more problems than Balotelli ffs........
Like not having a single attacking midfielder that can provide width, every single one of Yaya's partners are crap, only having 1 quality CB in the whole squad.......
Last but not least, Dzeko scoring 5 in his last 29 games and no one mentioning a thing.
If this was any other player in world football providing what Balotelli is providing he would be praised but instead he's ridiculed ffs
