Remi Garde is the new coach of Lyon

He was named and presented today. That's his first time as the main coach.

He is 45, born in the region and he started his football carreer at the club. He played 9 seaons a the club before going to Strasbourg and Arsenal. He has been involved in the club after his playing career as the assistant of Houiller, as one of the member of the recrutement team and he was recently the director of the academy.

One of his main mission is to build with the players from the academy and to bring back our style of play.

good luck to him. Im pretty sure he will do better then Puel. Eventhough he didnt play a lot for us, he knows football inside out.

good news for the likes of Grenier, Lacazette & Kolo.

Puel had zero human qualities. Garde is already much more sympathic and invested in the club.

The contract is one year + one optionnal. The direction won't give 4 years contract like they did with Puel, they learned the lesson.

Garde will be helped a lot by Lacombe, who will be given even more importance, and Bats. The men of the clubs are taking over to remove the last ashes of Puel.

A new era of hope has began.

The club has heavily repeated that they wanted to give more chances to our young and that they will reduce the number of confirmed players by not replacing every players leaving.

I think we are going to buy a CB and a DM for sure but for the rest, it will depend of players leaving. It seems Kallstrom does not want to leave to Turkey and it embarass the club.

Not a lot. He was a surprise because a lot of people thought he would never have the level to play at Lyon. He was loaned in ligue 2 to Metz as a last chance, was quite successful, came back here and finally Puel liked his profile and used him as a winger.

He has been average, some good performance but a lot of average matchs. I don't think he will do better than a sub here. Lacazette is much more promising and should take over Briand next season I hope.
