I don't know whether you've got your tongue in Cesc because you're an Arsenal fan, but your post contains many blatant exaggerations.

1. It is not easy to stop Silva. In fact it's very difficult. He will turn on any "decent DM" as he does in practically every league game. Granted he's not Messi...but still. It is extremely rare that you will see Silva dispossessed unless he attempts a dribble in the box.

2. Movement? Come on now. Cesc just said the other day that movement (tactically speaking) was his weakest area and at Arsenal he had no tactical discipline/understandind, would just stand wherever he saw fit and is now learning this part of the game at Barca.

3. Cesc has better attacking aggression? Yeah, probably, because of his new role at Barca.

And to answer the OP's question, I think they are very different players. One is a centre-mid, the other is an attacking mid.

Yes they're both midfielders but their roles are extremely different.

Personally, I don't like comparing players that are so different

Just because cesc had a worse-than-expected-season at barca doesnt mean that cesc isnt a better player. Dont forget his term at arsenal. His performances were clearly better. Not to mention that he has been wonderful for spain, scoring and assisting when it was required. I still think he is a unique player.

What? Cesc needs lots of space to operate in and lacks any movement at all in tight spaces as he has shown at Barca......

His movements are very striker like while he is very good at he beats Silva in final third....... as far as movement in midfield and tight spaces go Silva is in another league.

To me being able to escape your markers in tight area's and have better movements which is the minefield that is midfield of todays game is much more impressive.

cex doesn't fit the system so Silva

He isnt even third best midfielder in Barca,

Xavi,Busquets,Iniesta all are just comfortably better.

Cesc is better than xavi and iniesta combined.
