Check how many trophies can be possibly won in the last 3.5 seasons and how many of them were won by Barca. That should answer your question.

While I absolutely think it's an over-simplification to look solely at results and not at gameplay, I think it's impossible to make the argument that Barca were the best in the world this year. Going into every game as the favorite is not enough; controlling possession is not enough. You need to pull through, and when it comes down to it, we sit here at the end of the year and Barca have nothing to show for it. Yes, they've been dominant over the past three years - they were hands down the best team over the past three years. But that isn't this year. And I'm baffled to see people try and claim that Barca are better than Madrid, who did as well as them in the UCL and bettered them in the league, or Chelsea (if they pull out the UCL final), or Bayern (same). Even Man U is probably going to come out of this season with a major trophy, something Barca can't claim.

You can say teams got lucky all you want, but the truth of the matter is that being the favorite going in doesn't mean shit. You have to actually win the trophies.

Just as you're allowed to question Madrid being the 2nd best team in the world according to your own unimportant opinion, I am allowed to question Barcelona being the best team in the world, unless there is some double standard in this forum...
