no fullback that needs protection should be considered a WC fullback IMO

He's capable of putting in superb performances but he's reliant on Zanetti

the fact that there is so few quality fullbacks in football atm means that although maicon is on the decline hes still one of the best and what he does. If you replicated the maicon situation with a CM for example, theyd be considered nowhere near WC

To be honest, this is the reason I dont think he is WC. I dont subscribe to that 23 man squad of the world thing, I think there are very few WC rightbacks. Maicon is not up there any more though.

Debuchy, Azpilicueta, PizzaSteak, Alves, Lahm, Santon, Richards, Walker, Sagna, Ivanovic, Isla, Lichtsteiner, Iraola etc etc

I could go on and on really, theres not a shortage of talent at RB infact theres lots of talent at RB.

Its at LB where the lack of talent resides......

I always considered Maicon > Alves, and if its still the case.... I know it depends on the team as well but....it would be great to see a top form Maicon, just a monster when he is...
