Are you willing or not Willing...?
I was inspired to make the post after reading the following link below, which states that Hamburg billionaire calls on fans to fund move for Van der Vaart, Klaus-Michael Kuhne is urging fans to pool their resources in a bid to sign the player.
http://www.goal.com/en/news/15/germany/2012/07/14/3240958/hamburg-billionaire-calls-on-fans-to-fund-move-for-van-der
As far as I'm concerned I'm willing to contribute £500 into Javi Martinez/Dzeko transfer to Bayern Munchen, if 60,000 fans contributes thesame amount, that can raise the club £30M which can help them(to a reasonable extent) towards signing both Dzeko and Martinez, as well saving the club money for wages.
I still want this two players badly in Bayern.
Can you do this for your club and if so which player and Whats the maximum amount you will be willing to raise...?

It sounds like a ripoff. Why should fans bleed for poor management? I would fire the managers first before anything else.

Maybe I like Bayern Munchen too much, beginning to feel maybe I should reduce it and become less involved.

Re: Are you willing or not Willing...?
In Germany you fund it through your yearly club membership + merchandise.
What the guy is pretty much asking is to supplement their membership fees with a donation specific to finance a transfer.
Also idri, Bayernhas ~200,000 members so you don't have to donate as much.

Re: Are you willing or not Willing...?
It depends so much on how wealthy everyone is. I mean, which one is more generous: someone who's making €5000 / month donates €500 to his club or someone who is making €1000 / month donates €250 ?
Personally I think, though, that it's stupid of clubs - other than really small ones - to ask fans to donate money. If you want money from them, sell merchandise, but don't ask them to give cash for nothing.

More fans simply means more money, Imagine 200,000 thousand fans donating £500 or even less, the club will be better and stronger, isn't that what we want in the first place as football fans.
Re: Are you willing or not Willing...?
Membership fees + Fundraisers + Assorted other stuff covers this.
This proposal is stupid, you can't just ask people to pay for transfers directly , you have to ingratiate them into the institution, make them feel like they're a part of something.
It's like asking people who want to see improvement in the health facilities of a country to contribute directly to the purchase of every new scanner or MRI...it makes no sense, taxes are there for a reason.
And that's without mentioning how difficult it would be to sell that player later on.

My first thought, but I guess a billionaire would have a load of outside-the-box ideas, probably how they made that $$$ in the first place.EarlyPrototype wrote:The Messiah wrote: Hamburg billionaire

True, but this is not some CR7 transfer lol. This is VDV. Probably would cost around 15-20 million. Surely he can fund this move himself.

Do you support Manchester United/Barcelona/Read Madrid or Bayern Munich...?
I'm lost
Re: Are you willing or not Willing...?
Obviously putting into consideration financial fair play and also because our board have already spent so much signing other players and paying high wages, I will be willing to contribute into signing exemptional players under exemptional circumstance.
I will contribute £1000 pound if Bayern board propose to buy Messi or Ronaldo, I am sure many fans will.
Plus I wouldn't contribute a penny if they simply say they need money for transfer, without stating that particular player.

Re: Are you willing or not Willing...?
Kühne could do that, but he doesn't feel like giving all the money for it himself. He wants the fans to participate as well. At least that's what I gathered from the press reports.EarlyPrototype wrote:justdoit_ wrote:My first thought, but I guess a billionaire would have a load of outside-the-box ideas, probably how they made that $$$ in the first place.EarlyPrototype wrote:The Messiah wrote: Hamburg billionaire

That's what I thought as well, why would you want one fan to pay towards a player transfer just because he's rich.
I fear it will lead to dangerous precedence, it's better if the fans contribute all together towards the player transfer if he's out of the club financial means.

Re: Are you willing or not Willing...?
Remember, there are no owners in German football - at least no single person or entity gets more than 49% of the shares. (50%+1 of the shares have to remain in the hands of the fans that "own" the club, hence 50+1 rule)EarlyPrototype wrote:He is a fan? I thought he was the owner. Oh well.
Kühne is just a fan, albeit with quite some money. He already gave 11 or 12 million Euros to the HSV before to help them get some players (although he retained some percentage of the transfer rights for it).

If Bayern needed fans to give money in order to make a good transfer, I would donate as much as was needed or as much as I could pay.
