De Gea is a better shot stopper and goal keeper than Valdes, Valdes is quite average but he's fortunate enough to play at a club that keeps most of the possession all the time, so his deficiencies are not often exposed.

He used to be just terrible and an excuse for a goalkeeper around De Gea's age but he's improved since then but not to a level greater than De Gea. I think his mistakes would cost Barcelona again this season.

I would always take De Gea over Valdes, been saying this for ages, Valdes is over-rated. He just doesnt have any competiton in Barca. However, he is quite amazing at one-on-ones.

Lol, De Gea better with his feet? He just whack the ball upfield whenever it is anywhere near his feet. He can be pretty accurate at times ( 20% of the time maybe) but other than that he just boots them up without any thought.

And we can't say who's more error-prone until De Gea has more games under his belt, then we can judge.

its not the first time Baldez has messed up a back pass against Real Madrid, maybe his footwork isn't as good as people are making it out to be and that he gets exposed when he actually gets pressured.

The problem with valdes is over-confidence but he is still a good goal-keeper. De Gea hasn't played long enough for me to trust him.

Despite valdes' mistakes his passing from the back is very important to how barca play. The amount of times he has come to our rescue, after some very long spells of inactivity outweighs his occasional moments of madness.

I still think Valdes >> Cassilas FOR BARCA atm. Casillas launches the ball foward way too many times for my liking and at barca this would just gift possession to the other team. Same with De Gea

If Casillas was brought up in Barca academy then he would be definately be more better with his feet. no doubt.

De Gea was magnificent again, Man of the Match for United in two consecutive games. He even showed Valdes how to dribble today.

You msut be serious. Made one great save though made a meal out of the other. Clearly makes too many mistakes. Valdes doesn't do as much.

If were going to compare based on one match performance then Tello literally shat on Ronaldos face first game of the league.

Valdes is not as talented as De Gea, I'm not basing my judgement on one match, I was reacting to the post above me. De Gea even in his time in la liga he was better than Valdes in most departments of goalkeeping.

I strongly believe De Gea should have gone to the Euros in place of Valdes, but the pressure from Barcelona was too much and Del Bosque buckled to it. Valdes isn't going to displace Casillas from the national team, so it would have been more logical to send a young understudy who has a far better chance of displacing Casillas in the national team in future.

Casillas is bad with his feet but he doesn't screw around with the ball. he knows his limits. Valdes for a keeper is quite good, I watched the futsal match and was suprised he outshines a B Team player. He doesn't know his limits though and that shows

It's incredible.Yesterday he proved you are wrong.You just said that things without arguments and now things turned against you.Maybe all of your posts on this forum are like this one.

Anyway; i think De Gea will be in 3-4 years one of the best GK's in the world.Valdes is good but only....good, nothing more.

Valdes makes the hard saves... but doesn't make the easy saves and complicates it for himself when he always charges like a maniac. He isn't that bad, I really have seen him make excellent saves before. But he's not in ikers level.
