Rob's my favourite non-Liverpool fan on the forum.
Quite certain he's a red inside him though.

Thanks. I saw 2 rambles (think it was your post and mca) and skipped the rest.

Re: Luisito
Suarez has to learn some more skills apart from his football...to vent out his anger, he can do several things on football pitch, like side push with shoulders, or simply push with his body when playing...always better than biting someone. When he is playing for us in the next season, we have to make sure that he doesnt do it again.
When he comes back to Liverpool, I wont even care what he did in Urugway shirt, but he should be definitely punished in an appropriate manner by FIFA for his deed. I just hope now that it doesnt come to club level.
Also, it is so much important that we as a club handle it in the right manner. BR is going to face very difficult time...with high expectations in this season plus this Suarez issue

Re: Luisito
As i mentioned in the other thread, UEFA is likely to take action based on what FIFA does... and even beyond FIFA. Every governing body has the authority to take action if one of its constituents (club, players, managers, etc.) does something that is deemed detrimental to its brand and values even if it doesn't happen in the competitions it governs. Usually, it's if a player breaks the law. But this would apply too. This is really, really bad for Suarez.

Meh...people do worse things on the pitch, and have done much more dangerous things in the past. I don't get the lengthy bans when realistically it should be counted in the same tier as a heabutt.

Sportz, calm down. You always like to jump the gun. UEFA or any other governing body won't be giving him any sort of ban. It's only going to be FIFA and I'm 99% sure it's only going to be at international level.

Re: Luisito
When Suarez bit players at the club level, he wasn't banned from International football.
The opposite should apply now. or else, everything is a farce.

Suarez Lawyer
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/sports/football/fifa-world-cup-2014/top-stories/Fifa-World-Cup-2014-England-Italy-campaigning-against-Suarez-lawyer-says/articleshow/37198131.cms
Seems like their defense is the bite was an accidental collision and not intentional.
The meeting is at 9 PM UK time i think. Will know whatever punishment sooner i suppose
"There is a possibility that they ban him, because there are precedents, but we're convinced that it was an absolutely casual play, because if Chiellini can show a scratch on one shoulder, Suarez can show a bruised and almost shut eye," Balbi said.
"If every player starts showing the injuries he suffers and they open inquiries for them everything will be way too complicated in the future. We're going to use all the arguments possible so that Luis gets out in the best possible way."

Re: Luisito
What an absolute idiot. A brilliant genius of a player and model gentleman off the pitch (by all accounts) but a massive, colossal, gigantic idiot on it it seems.
It does the club no good to cut him lose or anything though (not that any LFC fan in here is currently implying or suggesting as much).

Robes you know how much I love you
I wonder when or if our club is going to make a statement as well. Reading reports that we are waiting for FIFA's decision first. Poor Brendan is going to get bombarded with the incident questions all summer. And we have such a great preseason to look forward to

Liverpool Football Club has released the following statement in response to the FIFA Disciplinary Committee's decision regarding Luis Suarez.
Ian Ayre, chief executive officer, said: "Liverpool Football Club will wait until we have seen and had time to review the FIFA Disciplinary Committee report before making any further comment."

Re: Luisito
I think it's harsh to extend his ban so severely to club football, too. Three games, okay, I would've understood, now it's frigging nine PL games, plus CL games until November. Feels unfair.
That said, he had it coming, I guess. We are just going to have to deal with it, both the ban and the mockery from other fans and the press. Unless he gets sold, of course...
I also wonder how Suarez himself is taking this. He must feel that he's been done wrong big time. In fact, he's probably furious. I don't know if that affects us in any way, but just wondering how he'll come back after four months.

Re: Luisito
...and what makes biting worse than elbowing? Or making a brash tackle that breaks bones?
I mean, he would have gotten less had he just broken Chiellini's leg and ended his career.
It's a really stupid system.

Re: Luisito
El Cujo... there's a difference between acts that happen as part of the game (tackling, elbows, etc.) and those that are completely outside the game (biting ). It's like biting in boxing by Mike Tyson. I mean, could you imagine if someone was caught biting in the NFL? They'd be thrown out of the league It's about the integrity of the sport. Not sure why you don't see that.

Re: Luisito
Completely banned from ALL football activities for 4 months. He can't even go near any football facilities for Liverpool or NT. Can't even attend games.
Anyhow, Suarez is appealing, which could really backfire. You could get a reduced sentence... but you can also get it worse. It's not as if the FIFA appeal committee is going to overrule the FIFA disciplinary committee

Re: Luisito
Absurd ban .
I have read why Suarez is recidivist. Well , he is not the only recidivist.
Just a list..
De Rossi elbows since World Cup 2006 (Italy -USA 1-1) , he has never stopped to do it, but noone increased his ban and he gets always only 3 matchdays.
Pepe..
Totti had always unsportsmanlike conduct in his career, he did everything, spits , elbows , kicks in the ass, but he took always 4 matchdays at the maximum
Zidane gave an headbutt to Materazzi, and tbh that gesture was very dangerous for his life, not as a bite, but he got just a ban for 3 matches and even the Materazzi's ban because he provoked Zidane ( so Chiellini had to be banned? )
what has the sense of all it?
There is no clearness in the football .
And It is a ridicoulous thing if we consider the football is a world where running a lot of money and a banned match in more can be decisive.
Who has understood how these bans are justified ? Why Suarez takes 4 months and why Liverpool not must have Suarez for 9 matches unlike of other players guilty of similar things, why Totti 5 matchdays , why Zidane only 3 and he gets even banned Materazzi ( he only had this privilege ) etc ...
FIFA should specify the a fixed duration for these Unsportsmanlike acts , otherwise there is only discrepancy and Suarez is the only player in the world who always gets banned exceedingly
