Banner Discussion

instead of worry about the banner how about we discuss that new skin the admins promised a century ago ?

Every year or so I guess.

It would make sense to update with the coming of a new season. New talent, updated kits, and etc

Like put Falcao up there and make sure van Persie is in a Man U jersey

For me it is all black, too. But then, all black is always very soothing to my eyes

the black is good, the blue menu bar is the only thing doesn't fit in.

I see like shining lights (stadium lights I'm assuming) in the back ground. I never noticed it till now.

yeah the background is black with shinning stadium lights. The blue skins and navigation bar is kind of out of place but it hasn't bothered me up until now.

I'm late for this.. I have been really busy so I haven't been on goal legacy for awhile..
As the creator of the current banner, I don't mind a change and another competition/contest for a new banner. I will probably participate again if it doesn't collide with my schedule.

However, if you guys are planning to create a new contest, I do request for something:
1. a new forum skin.
In my opinion, the menu part (Home, Calendar, FAQ, and etc) is just plain horrible imo. It stands out way too much and doesn't fit with the natural flow of the rest of the forum design imo.
2. Do not put a players requirement on the the contest.

In the first contest, it really restricted me. (and to be honest, I didn't even include all the players required from the original contest.) One of the issue I had was that too many players in one banner made it too crowded and distraction. Your eyes would be all over the place.

To be honest, I had considered there was a large possibility some players would move. Which is why, I didn't want to use current club players of a team. I wanted to use club legends to design it, which would also fit the concept goal legacy. However the player rules on the the first contest forced me to do something else than what I original wanted to do.

I am planning to create a new contest in the next 2-3 weeks. And i am also planning to change the layout as well, specially the menu bar.

About the contest, i think i will try and do something different, to suit everyone's game. Not sure how much though

I like the idea of letting the contestants have a little more freedom (that is what makes Goal Legacy unique in my opinion) and while I understand there are limits, I think enough posters will put their heart and soul into it. Just my two cents, I'm sure you'll do what's right, moderators

I think it would be great if we'd first get a new theme for the forum, then we could design the banner to fit perfectly with the new theme.
