I still don't get why people get happy when their club makes money if it doesn't directly lead to transfers.

I'm happy because our club debts are way down, I'm happy because in a fairly volatile economic country and world my club unlike many many many other is actually very financially healthy
Every fan should be happy about this why wouldn't you be? Especially those that give alot back to the clubs ie members and socios

But there was never any danger of Madrid not meeting their debts, so it's pretty insignificant from that aspect.Crimson wrote:I'm happy because our club debts are way down, I'm happy because in a fairly volatile economic country and world my club unlike many many many other is actually very financially healthy

And socios do have reason to rejoice but as far as I know no one here is one.

Personally, not interested in the "debt free " status is not important to me, but progressively reducing it is always a positive seeing as the financial side of football as a whole may not endure at this height forever.

I think Perez wants it all wiped out before the next election, wiping out all of our debt will be a huge plus for him against any other candidate

I agree 100% but in Madrid's case any money they do make is reinvested in some capacity. The club isn't really concerned with profits in a traditional sense.
