Are Espanyol the most Aggressive side in Europe ?
I was going to use the word "dirty" but i don't know if that would be right or not since i can't judge them without seeing the games.
Espanyol at the moment have 27 Yellow Cards and 4 Red Cards in just 6 games. It can either be that the Referees have treated them harshly, or that they are generally an Aggressive side.
So do the yellow and red cards tell the full story or is it the referees in La liga who dash out the cards very quickly ?

wait, when did they surpass Valencia, Valencia were comfortable first not so long ago
Also this aggressiveness isn't helping Espanyol because they have an awful record of wins atm, need to go back to their usual football

Half of those yellow cards were unintentional hand balls while at least half of those red cards were referee f*ck ups knowing Spanish referees.

If Espanyol played in bundesliga they will probably have 14 yellow cards and 1 red card, Spanish ref give card far too much .
Card-Happy refs.
The most aggressive team in Europe is Hanover, they uses “Extraordinary levels of aggression in their build up and rely solely on passion and aggression.
I have never seen a team that plays with so much determination, aggression and Passion.

Don't think I've watched them this season, but it's probably the refs.

Exactly, I was going to just respond on that... Valencia and Levante are apart of the Valencian Community, not Catalonia. They have a similiar language but are not of the same autonomous community...

Levante are still thugs atm
Also Pochettino gets sacked---> Espanyol finding themselves in the relegation zone

No they aren't.
Watched a couple games. In one of them there was like 8 cards... 2 reds. The ref was retarded. Refs in Spain are just bad.
Longo was given his second yellow for running to the crowd and hugging them. Apparently it was dangerous for crowd safety...

I think it has to do more with Spanish refs being far more card-happy than any of the other referees in the other top leagues.
Because, out of the top 8 teams that received the most yellow and red cards this season, 7 of them are Spanish.

Pepe and Ramos alone are considered aggressive and honestly if it weren't for the team they played in they would be suspended more often.

This. I still remember vividly the card feast Alberto Undiano celebrated for practically no reason in the WC2010 when Germany played Serbia in the group stage (altogether 8 yellows plus 1 yellow-red ).7amood11 wrote:I think it has to do more with Spanish refs being far more card-happy than any of the other referees in the other top leagues.
