Buffon: 'I'll recover in 2-3 days'

Gianluigi Buffon says he “should recover in two to three days,” leaving him at risk for the Denmark game, and looks ahead to Juventus-Napoli.

The goalkeeper is in doubt for Tuesday’s World Cup qualifier at San Siro and is undergoing treatment for a thigh injury.

“It is a minor strain like many others, so I am very relaxed,” assured Buffon. “I should recover in two to three days. I’ll have physiotherapy today.”
Naturally, he was also asked about Saturday’s Scudetto showdown, especially as if he doesn’t start against Denmark then Napoli’s Morgan De Sanctis should step in for Italy.

“Juventus-Napoli? For now I am focused on the Nazionale, then from Wednesday we will concentrate on Serie A.

“You journalists are the ones worried about that game. De Sanctis would replace me against Denmark if I didn’t make it, but there’s no need to make allusions or create controversy around that.”
