so, 3 of our boys have been selected for the U20 World Cup that starts on 29 July:
Robinson & Wisdom for England,
Pacheco for Spain.


but i wanted to talk more preciselly about Pacheco: dont you think its a bad idea for him to go?

i mean, now he will miss pre-season with us (apparently the players have to go meet their teams from 16July or smtg)
and he wont be able to show Kenny that he can be a important player of the squad for the season...
his situation here was already difficult, but this isnt helping him.
unless his situation is sorted out before he goes (sold, loaned...)

Adam Morgan, Tyrell Belford and Stephen Sama have all signed a new deal . .it seems for Morgan its the first official deal. . really thing this guy is going to grow into a prospect for us

I might be mistaken but i think Pacheco is all but official that he is going to Norwich on loan for this season.

Here's a question for everyone: where do you see Kelly; Flannagan; Robinson Sterling; and even Shelvey, Henderson and Spearing's roles being next season. I know that a lot depends on what players are brought in over the summer, but I'm curious how you all rate these young talents.

Kelly - 20 games next season.
Flano and Robinson - Demote to Reserves and keep them there for 3 years as back up.
Shelvey - Loan out.
Hendo - Squad player.
Spearing - Sell if we buy Adam.

^^^^^you can be sure that Spearing wont be sold no matter who we buy (even more not after we buy a CM, in that case selling him would mean having only 1 remaining specialist for the DM spot in the whole squad).


other than that i pretty much agree with you.
(and Flano & Robbo could even be loaned sooner than in those 3 yrs if the right opportunities appears for them)

Spearing won't be sold. He'll be our back-up to Lucas, or our 6th midfielder.

If we don't buy a LB, Kelly will be our main RB.

Flanno/Robinson will provide back-up, though they'll stay in the reserves.

Hope Shelvey stays, but I see Shelvey going out on loan. Let's hope we don't sell him when he comes back. ;|

What i think is do you remember that interview in which Spearing said i had offers and i considered leaving?

This means something, His excellent form the EPL will make bigger clubs interested in him and seeing that he can perform in the highest level week in - week out, could drive him him out of the club rather than being 6th choice lol .

however, in the future i agree with u, that maybe he'll see that he cant be no more than a squad player here, and if he is ambitious, he will look for a move elsewhere

Yes i was talking about next season, He is turning 23 right? He has proved that he can play in the top level and against top teams, i don't see him accepting the fact he will again become "6"th choice lol.

with Lucas, hes our only player capable to play the role of classic DM.

and given that our midfielders are pretty versatiles and most can and will be rotated from CM to CAM to RM or even CDM, then i can think Spearing will have a fair amount of games to play this season and wont be "6th" choice

Kenny rates Spearing highly apparently.

Then again, it looked like Kenny rated Shelvey highly to me, so I wouldnt have a clue. Hopefuly they both stay. Good prospects.

@nishank: I mean he'd be 6th spot if we were to have another CM crisis. He's a back-up to Lucas.

i agree with the spearing sentiment he would be vital as we most probably won't be getting any new CDM . .he would be back up to Lucas for sure. .so he is a vital part of the whole plan . . maybe would play a key role in the Cup ties. .& @nishank i don't find any reason for him to accept a sub position. . to be a competing at the top we would need secondary players like him to stay in the bench . .& who better then one of our own Scouser . .

Kelly: Let's hope for the best that we will sign a quality LB. ITC, Kelly will be the back-up for both the LB & RB positions. This will be short season (without Europe), yet I see Kelly making 20-25 games.

Flanagan & Robinson: If they make more than 10 senior games, together, it will mean we are in big trouble. They will be with the reservs for next three years with few senior games scattered along.

Shelvy: Will be loaned-out for next season. If his quality proves to be true, coupled with additional games in 2012-13; he will become a squad player. On way to fill-in the boots of certain #8.

Spearing: From Championship bench to PL starter, that too in few odd months. But can he go further. If he doesn't leave (or sold), he will be the cover for Lucas in DM/CDM role. Can be a valuable squad member in long season.

Pacheco: Starting to doubt his potential. Rumored to be loaned out for next season.

Dani Pacheco will today embark on what he describes as a 'massive summer' in his fledgling career.

The 20-year-old returned to Liverpool after a six-week break this weekend and will train alongside his teammates at Melwood today.

Pacheco is aiming to do everything possible to show Kenny Dalglish he can play a vital role in 2011-12 - but he will have to get a move on.

That's because the young Spaniard has been selected to represent his country in the U20 World Cup, which starts in Colombia on July 29.

Pacheco tweeted: "Back to Liverpool, training 4th till 15th and then National Team for u-20. Massive summer for myself.

"Time to give everything on the pitch."

His time to shine. His future at Liverpool is at risk. People are starting to question themselves with Dani, hopefuly he can back himself. He seems to have the right attitude to do it.

he will be 23 this yr and clearly hasnt the level.

i know Spearing's case will be brought up, but Spearing only got his chances because of all the injuries, and it was either we play him or Poulsen....(and unlike Darby, he kinda did well when called upon, but unfortunatly he doenst has the quality too to one day be a starter here anyway)

in Darby's case i dont even see how he will ever get game time here, with Glen Johnson still relatively young,plus Kelly & Flanagan arguably already better than him.

i guess being scouse clearly is a good advantage.

but League One is such a sh*tty league. our reserve would top that league easily.
i dont think thats the kind of place that will help him improve big time to suddently become premiership quality by miracle (neverming LFC quality).

Darby only has one year left on his contract iirc.SO him going on loan means he has left the club forever not just on loan.
