The Dortmund love here is frightening. Cool gesture but couldn't care less. Too many people here trying to be alternative. Yea let's hate on Bayern and rip on arsenal. Pls go.

"It wasn't a good season for me at ManUnited. If Dortmund agrees to it, I would like to return to the team one day", Kagawa stated in the Japanese TV-short "Foot Brain"."Für mich war es keine gute Saison bei ManUnited. Re: BVB aktuell
For some reason I think this will give Dortmund a much better position in trying to keep Ilkay Gündogan. And who knows - maybe Robert Lewandowski will reconsider going to Bayern after all.

Well, the shirt was made of flowers in pots - and about 3 weeks ago these flower pots were given away as gifts to the Dortmund supporters who showed up there at the Westfalenpark to take one or two away.

Re: BVB aktuell
Klopp just announced that Kagawa refused to come back. Aww that sucks
Would have loved to have him back.

Goal.com wrote:Klopp, whose side secured a 4-2 victory over Bayern Munich in the German Supercup on Saturday, says that he contacted the 24-year-old regarding his availability but was told that he wanted to remain at Old Trafford.
"This is not an issue for him this year, not even for us," the BVB coach told Sky.
"It was clear relatively quickly, Shinji wants to prevail this year at Manchester United. I did not expect a different answer, you just have to ask even once."

Re: BVB aktuell
BVB posted a new record profit of 53.5 mio Euros (turnover 305 mio Euros) for 2012/13. The wages they have to pay currently are at 99.8 mio Euros (between 76 and 77 mio Euros of that sum go to the professional players).
Last year, BVB could enjoy a profit of 34.3 mio Euros (turnover 215.2 mio Euros), while their payroll was 74.5 mio Euros.
http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/bundesliga/startseite/591019/artikel_533-millionen-euro---bvb-erzielt-rekordgewinn.html
The BVB usually manages to balance their transfer income and expenses very well. This season they earned 44 675 000 Euros from player sales, while they spent 50 mio Euros for new players, making it a net spending of just 5 325 000 Euros.
http://www.transfermarkt.de/de/1-bundesliga/transferuebersicht/wettbewerb_L1.html
Oh, by the way, Aki Watzke also stated that Borussia Dortmund is as of now debt-free as their outstanding debits (68.7 mio Euros) and liquid assets (11.5 mio Euros) finally exceed their total liabilities of the KGaA (56.1 mio Euros) by 24 mio Euros.
Oh, and the 61.5 mio Euros profit given in the link below is profit before taxes.

Re: BVB aktuell
Borussia Dortmund defender Marcel Schmelzer will miss his side's UEFA Champions League quarter-final tie after tearing muscle fibres in his groin on Wednesday night.
The Germany international faces a four-week lay-off after picking up the injury during his side's 2-1 defeat to Zenit St Petersburg on Wednesday.
That result was still enough for the Westphalians to complete a 5-4 aggregate win to join Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich, the side who beat them in last season's Champions League final, in the last eight.
In spite of his injury, Schmelzer was nonetheless relieved Dortmund made it through after they encountered more difficulty than they might have imagined at the Westfalenstadion.
"Definitely I'm delighted we've made it through," he said on his club's website. "We are once again among the best eight sides in Europe, and that's amazing.
"It was a tough game and Zenit played well and made life difficult for us. But in the end, all that matters is we're in the next round."
Although he will not be involved in either leg of the quarter-finals, Schmelzer is looking forward to Friday's draw, hoping it is favourable to his team-mates to enable him potentially to return for the semi-finals.
"There are a few teams in there we've not met yet and so it would be nice to play against a side who we don't know yet," he said.
"But we can't change or have any influence on the draw. We've just got to give it our best shot. Anything's possible in the next round."

Re: BVB aktuell
Champions League quarter finals draw
12.00 CET, 21 March, Nyon
Quarter-finalists
Club Atlético de Madrid (ESP)
FC Barcelona (ESP)
FC Bayern München (GER)
Chelsea FC (ENG)
Borussia Dortmund (GER)
Manchester United FC (ENG)
Paris Saint-Germain (FRA)
Real Madrid CF (ESP)
BVB are once again the underdogs in the CL and second best to everyone except Man Utd. That said there are two games and those teams could be in for a surprise. Let's hope for a draw with Man Utd before facing the top dogs, hopefully having some good momentum by then.

Re: BVB aktuell
Looks like İlkay Gündoğan won't return to play before the end of the season, according to Jürgen Klopp. This also means it is highly unlikely that he will feature in the World Cup 2014.

Re: BVB aktuell
On the upside, all of the recent reports suggest that a career end is out of the question, which is great. I would have loved him at the WC though, really leaves a gap in the center of our midfield.
Hope Kroos gets a few more games as a 6 for Bayern in the remainder of the season.

Re: BVB aktuell
The Deutsche Bank is interested in buying around 10 percent of the shares of Borussia Dortmund (which is supposed to be realised via a follow-on offering of BVB stock). As Borussia Dortmund are by now virtually free of debt, the money could be used to become more competitive against Bayern München.
So far there is resistance within the Deutsche Bank board, but the topic will be discussed this Friday.

Re: BVB aktuell
The Deutsche Bank deal evaporated for two reasons - the Deutsche Bank board said it was not the time and Borussia Dortmund think that 10% of their stock should be at least 50 mio Euros (according to the BVB market value) and not 23 mio Euros (which is how the stock is currently traded).

Re: BVB aktuell
Yeah, Sebastian Kehl already announced he wanted to retire from active playing in 2015 somewhen in April already. Nonetheless it was a bit of a surprise to hear that he'd retire as BVB captain now, although his reasons were pretty sensible. I assume that Mats Hummels will follow in his footsteps.

Re: BVB aktuell
Good move, imo. He isn't a footballing centre of the team so much anymore, hasn't been for a while, it's the right thing to let another player take over.
Hummels the obvious choice.
