Pastore to Roma

Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has confirmed that there is a 90 per cent chance of star player Javier Pastore leaving the club this summer.

The Argentine is currently away with the national side for this summer's Copa America but looks set to leave the Sicilian outfit with Roma, Chelsea, and Manchester City believed to be leading the chase.

Palermo have slapped a €50 million price tag on the 22-year-old, with Zamparini almost certain the club's playmaker will leave before next season.

"The player is 90 per cent sure of leaving Palermo this summer," the president told Radio Mana Mana.

Reports emerging from Italy are stating the player favours a move to Roma although Zamparini has confirmed the clubs are not yet in negotiations for the player.

"I hear from [Walter] Sabatini every two or three days, but we have never talked about Pastore," he added.

Roma are rumoured to have offered €25m for the Argentine along with utility players, Matteo Brighi and Stefano Okaka, something the president played down.

"We don't need midfielders, nor players who are currently at Roma because they earn too much for our wage structure," Palermo's patron explained.

"We'll see, though. It all depends on the bid Roma make. With the right offer, Pastore could go to Roma."

Zamparini concluded the interview by playing down reports linking Lazio with the side's right-back, Mattia Cassani.

"If Lazio signed Abdoullay Konko, then it means they no longer want Cassani. That's fine with me, considering he'll be crucial in Stefano Pioli's 3-4-3 system," he added.

We need to sell Menez asap if we want this move to happen...

Boriello's on the market too and Vucinic is poised to leave as well. Sell any 2 of those 3 and add maybe 15m more and we'll get Pastore.

Well Vucinic is unhappy and said he wants to leave ...Mainly upset with the fans and that the relationship cannot be repaired ..So it's just a matter of time before he's sold ..

Yeah well like I said, sell any of Vucinic, Menez or Boriello...or all 3 of them...and we're certain to get Pastore.

I just don't think that that big of a sacrifice is justifiable for a player that's only had a couple of good seasons since he's moved to Europe.

Right now, it's Menez and Vucinic, as you said, that look likeliest to leave due to the unhappiness of the fans. But you gotta remember, fans are fickle.

It won't take much. A great goal here, a fantastic assist there...to repair the damage.

Lower your price to under 10 million pounds for Menez and you might have a buyer

I hope PSG is going to consider signing Menez very seriously in the coming days.

Nene on one side and Menez on the other can be very exciting.

Menez is very interested in PSG and the feeling is definitely mutual from what I've read in recent weeks.

What's more perplexing to me is PSG's interest in Boriello....when they already have Hoarau, who I think, is a bit more talented.

Zamparini hyped Pastore up so much to the point that not many of us know how good he is anymore.

I'd say Menez + 15m should seal the deal, but knowing Zamparini he'd probably ask for another 10m on top of that.

Don't see Menez heading to Palermo though. If he's leaving Roma, then he's leaving Italy at this point.

I honestly think we should pay for Pastore straight up. No players going in the other direction. Selling 2 of the aformentioned 3 should go quite a ways towards meeting Zamp's crazy demands as well as leaving quite a bit in our kitty for more transfers as well.

Lol. How much did zamp say Cavani was worth and how much did he get sold for? Zamp would happily take a 25M offer and probably less.

And if he does, all the "Pastore is worth 50, 60, 100 million" will just make him look all the more zany....if that's possible.

22m would be quite acceptable for a player of his ability imo, but yeah 35's as high as we should go.

The question is if Pastore comes, where will he fit in Luis Enrique's 4-3-3? Will he play as a winger/inside forward or as a CM? Or will Enrique change his formation and tactics?

I think Chelsea should try and get him.
