Sergio Batista used him as a ball spreader which limited his abilities. tried to asisst goals for his teammates instead of scoring in the first half, completely disappeared when his teammates needed his magic to pass Bolivian defenders in the second half.

Neymar vs. Venezuela | Rating: 6.0
Frustrating game from the youngster, Defenders dealt with him easily and wasn't really threatening. just like the rest of his teammates.

however I do agree with you and believe when he is Messi's age he could also be at a near enough level

he like Messi rarely suffers from lack of confidence and he like Messi have this great ability in terms of passing, dribbling and scoring
