I don't understand team of the year either, Pirlo finished ahead of Alonso on that but still didn't get in lol.

He made the shortlist, so whether or not people voted for him he was going to be ranked no lower than 23.

this isn't a surprise, it was a bigger surprise that he even made the shortlist, he was good at euro's that's all. and even then, he wasn't top 23 worthy.

Was just going to make a thread about this now. What a disgrace that this bloke made the top 23, I know he just made it, but we all know that he does not deserve to be down there amongst the mediocrity of double-digits players. Ballotelli for #1.
