bhends obscure game of the week Empty bhends obscure game of the week

Post by Swanhends Sun Apr 14, 2013 3:05 am

In an effort to expand my horizons, I am going to attempt to watch one game from outside of epl/spain/germ/italy per week, and since some games could be during odd hours (so no chat) I figured I'd make a thread for any match commentary - thanks to firstrow it should be relatively easy to get games from everywhere

Week 1: I might actually do 2 games tomorrow since its the first go around, but here are some games I've been eying suggestions or comments welcome: PSV-Ajax (1030 am EST), Olympiakos-Panathinaikos (Noon EST), River Plate-Arsenal de Sarandi (715pm EST)

Leaning toward Olympiakos-Panathinaikos and River-Arsenal atm

Week 1: Olympiakos vs Panathinaikos, River Plate vs Arsenal de Srandi
Week 2:

Is Cuenca still injured?

If Cuenca isn't injured and is playing with Ajax, I'd like that one best. In fact, I may even join in.

If he's injured do whatever the hell you want. I think I'm going to go check his injury status right now.

The Eredivisie is the best league in the world. Haters gonna hate. :coffee:

Only "real" league in terms of talent. Only league where any of four teams can win the league if PSV do beat Ajax. They don't necessary have to splash the cash to make the league entertaining. The youth their is amazing. Eredivisie. Proud

I'll be watching FC Basel 1893 vs FC Zürich on 13:45 GMT+1. Other than it features Yann Sommer, this will be the final match of Alex Frei before he retires his boots and becomes sports director of FC Luzern.

In GL terms it is, aside from the 5 or so dutch fans we have here I would be surprised if many others would watch

PSV-Ajax is the biggest name on paper, the problem is I would have to miss the first part because of the end of the Inter match

If Basel hadn't just played Thursday in Europa League this definitely wouldve made the list of possible matches

Basel won 3:1 against FC Zürich after being down 0:1 at first. Alex Frei, who started as Basel's captain today, scored the equalizer with a beautiful free kick. Great way to end his amazing career that began in Basel 16 years ago and now ended in Basel, too.

Great thread.

I need to do more of this tbh. Rather than only watch big games from the popular leagues.

GL Jinx strikes again: Olympiacos gets their equalizer under contentious circumstances after a scramble in the box - Pana felt that the goal was offside but it was razor close

The Panathinaikos players proceeded to attack the ref like I have never seen...I think at one point the ref was pushed to the ground beneath an avalanche of 8 or 9 pana players and some subs

The goal was scored at 87....89 now and Pana still arguing - big crowd of 20 or so people near the benches surrounding the ref
