80* but the discussion is moot since FC2 isn't really open world.
Your the one who brought it up lol, anyway anyone who calls it hack and slash is simply playing it wrong at least in Witcher 3.
I'll try to explain it as simply as possible.
It's more about timing your rolls, evades, parries than it is hacking and slashing. You can play it like that but i really wouldn't see why, the game simply isn't designed for that style of play without millions of deaths.
Combine that timing with the use of potions, oils, bombs and many other things combined with clever use of magic signs and it makes for a rather interesting and flowing combat system IMO.
No one who has played the stiff crap that Oblivion or Skyrim has to offer should really have a problem with it.

Re: Witcher 3
I meant hack and slash as a genre with Bayonetta's dodge and parry style in mind.

Re: Witcher 3
Eh? It couldn't be more different than Bayonetta if it tried.
If you are playing it like that, then you are doing it badly wrong
I can see why people find it stiff and boring ( mainly criticisms of the past games tbh) if they play it like an hack and slash tbh.
I don't have a problem with people not liking it, but i really don't see the hack and slash comparisons personally. Not there is anything wrong with that, it's just not that type of game to me.

Methinks you played Bayonetta wrong (or never went for Pure Platinum on Non-stop Infinity Climax) because Witcher 3's combat so far has been a (let me add massively) slowed down hack and slash.

So so so tempted to start on Death march difficulty.
But might just go with the 2nd hardest and do a 2nd play through on death march

Re: Witcher 3
There's definitely a possibility of that ( about Bayonetta )
But in any case agree to disagree, i'm loving this game too much to get bogged down into minor details

Yeah it's used to make potions, bombs, oils etc.
Although when you get far enough you can buy most of the flowers you need.

lmfaoooooo at Tom scottish blacksmith in the first town
Geralt[looks at a burnt down shed]: What happened to your place
Tom: It was a wee chilly so I set it on fire, cooked some wieners as well.... What the *bleep* do you think happened?
ffs
That card game looked too complicated. I kept pressing x and somehow won the game in the first round. Lost the others though

Re: Witcher 3
this game is legit lol, frustrating but good since you will spend a lot of time playing it...
and oh, i figured i gotta manually save this game every 2 mins after i got raped by the wraith
u never know which beast might pop up from nowhere esp when you just coming off a long a** horse ride and get rekt by a wolf or an easter bunny and have to go back all the way again...

Brah you have a limited deck, so you have to use what you have wisely. For example using your best cards upfront is a recipe for disaster. For example simply giving up a round is somehow a good thing sometimes to give up the short term for the long haul.
Tbh like most of the game it's extremely deep, i can see it being fun if i was to get into it. Haven't yet but i plan to do so at some point.

Re: Witcher 3
I remember the old FF games used to have card games which appeared really difficult but were kinda fun when you got around them. This is probably the same.
I'll come back to it eventually. Need to explore everywhere now and go to the question mark places.

You wait lol, i have seen massive beasts just randomly just strolling around. Ones that i'm nowhere near prepared for, to the extent that i go to attack them and they take me out in one shot and i'm a level 13 lol.

Re: Witcher 3
Think that's the idea though, i remember a reviewer saying he was level 35 when he completed the story and he still had loads of side quests and monsters to find and kill.
These high ranking beasts are there so the game doesn't turn into a ghost town when the story ends, I remember before the game came out the developers said they had some kind of system in place. Which meant that all the monsters have their own habitats so you could easily stumble across them at any time.
I have seen some shit which made me think OMFG, what is that thing and i still haven't explored all that much of No Mans Land or the Skellige Islands.
