Is justified like one big storyline or is there a new case every episode?

Mix of both really. They do a really good job of keeping things fresh while working towards each seasons end. Season 2 is the best.Yohan Modric wrote:Is justified like one big storyline or is there a new case every episode?

at the start of justified that was what I hated, seemed like a new bad guy of the week, but it pretty much changes, most of the bad guys of the week in later seasons end up being linked to the overarching story of the season and it's not as frequent.
Tom you're a SOA fan?

I do like clay but Jax and his strut is the bomb ffs.
Yeah it's such a good show.
One of the best on T.V for me hands down.

It's interesting how friendly and casual Raylan is towards the criminals.

SOA is indeed a GOAT show. It is known.
The biker lifestyle is definitely not my speed, but the innerworkings of that biker club are just mesmerizing to watch all the time.
Opie ftw!

You're watching it.Yohan Modric wrote:It's interesting how friendly and casual Raylan is towards the criminals.
Also,it's just a casual attitude he has. With the dangers he faces, you'd end up depressed if you took everything personally.
Not to mention it's his hometown and most of them are people he grew up with.

If you read the end of my post on there, I say why I excluded Mad Men, Dexter, The Wire, The Shield, The Newsroom, etc.CBarca wrote:McAgger, though I've never watched the show, I'm curious about your complete exclusion of Mad Men from that list. For a show that is very highly rated, have you just not seen it, or do you not rate it at all?
And yes it is because I haven't seen more than a few episodes here and there.

Band of Brothers is the best TV series in history. Pls tell me you simply haven't seen it and that's why it was omitted from your list, McAgger. pls.

Btw it's more of a mini-series.
I wouldn't personally list it because of that.

Haven't seen it Firenze. If I didn't include something, it's probably because I haven't seen it yet. Also nothing prior 2000.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 2
I watch SOA, but I'm kind of over it because they kill the wrong characters.
One of Gemma, Clay, or Jax should of been dead by now. Being the show-runners wife Gemma is safe till the series finale. Clay could finally get what's coming to him, but admit it, he's the real star of the show. Jax started off so well, but has never really lived up to the promise of his character.
If they wanted me to actually invest myself into the characters one of the big three should die in the first episode. Otherwise, it's just a show I watch while I'm doing something else.
Oh and:

agree they've killed the wrong characters but can't agree to them killing off Jax. He's the main good guy. Clay is/was tha main antagonist.
One of Clay/Gemma should've died and
Was indeed a mistake. But like on Boardwalk empire

GOAT "mini-series", I would rate it among some of my favorite television shows of all time, but I rate television shows by seasons and not as a whole.Firenze wrote:Band of Brothers is the best TV series in history. The West Wing is still my favorite show of all time. I think I've watched every episode 5-10 times.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 2
You could always bundle BoB with The Pacific..though I found that nowhere near as good.
Just looked up Ray Donovan, looks like I found my next series
I'm going to compile my top 15 list tomorrow, just 'cause.

Re: The TV Series Thread - Part 2
Any shows that fit the following description?
Is similar to Walking Dead, Breaking Bad and Justified.
Is a thriller with a good, compelling and riveting storyline.
Normal every day characters in a normal everyday setting.
The show has to be currently running.

Suits, House of Cards, Sons of Anarchy, probably your best bet.

Normal everyday setting like normal places, compared to GoT where they're in some random fantasy location.

MT ffs
Your line of thinking
Also, does it not get a little boring if you only watch things set in present day Earth all the time? That's very restricted
Nothing wrong with a different location
