Juventus told to keep Matri
Juventus would regret selling Alessandro Matri this summer, says veteran Italian tactician Nedo Sonetti.
The striker could be sacrificed by the Italian champions as they look to strengthen their attacking options for the 2013-14 campaign.
“Juventus, in my opinion, would be making a mistake by letting him go,” the former Cagliari and Brescia man told Sport e Vai.
“I actually think he deserved more opportunities in the side than he was given. Nevertheless, he proved that he can still be decisive when used.
“His movement is good, he’s physically strong and he knows where the goal is. Why would you get rid of that?”
Matri, born in 1984, moved to the Bianconeri in January 2011 from Cagliari. He has won two Scudetti and an Italian Super Cup during his stay.
The Italian has netted 29 goals in 69 League appearances for the Old Lady.
