@McLewis and ES : I've always considered that Serie A and EPL suits perfectly Chiriches' style. In Serie A he would have developed much faster than anywhere else his football intelligence. Shame on Milan and AS Roma...

True. Serie A suits his style rather than EPL.

Chiriches likes to bring the ball from the back and make some great runs, he likes to use his speed and take part of the attacking phase very often. So...I'd say he would fit better EPL at the moment, but he is still young and not fully developed. He has enough time to shape his style.

In Serie A, center-backs usually prefer to stay on their positions during the game.

So Chiriches will go to Spurs for 9,5 mil Euros after the 2nd leg against Legia.

I just figured he would be a right sided Vertoghen for us who is not only a stud at CB, but could be better cover at RB than Naughton.

Would be a great signing, and I would love to have the depth, given that he can easily rotate with Vertoghen, Kaboul, Walker and Dawson.

All these great signings, and with Chelsea pissing off Levy before we're into his favorite part of the window

Enrique is STILL the best Spanish LB. Our best fullback atm. Don't know how GJo gets more hype than him.

He has his moments like every other player.At Steaua he played almost perfectly, but at a bigger club where the expectations are higher, he will have for sure lapses of concentration.

He's an all-around player.He is good at almost every physical and psyhical aspect.

Tbf you guys also hijacked Jedvaj too. Spurs had a deal in place to buy him and Halilovic which was stopped by the families of one of the players apparently (seems like Halilovic since Jedvaj moved). After that Roma came in and swooped up Jedvaj

Looks very good with the ball at his feet. Certainly something that AVB wants in his CB's and he looks to be an exceptional step up from Dawson in that regard at least.

Can't wait to see him in action tbh.

I don't agree with him better than Chivu, yet (keyword). Still, I'd like this guy at Valencia. A Defender who has good Technique is always a blessing.

He isn't better than Chivu, but he has the potential to overcome him.

I hope that at Napoli it will be better for him, cause at Tottenham he played about 45 games and he barely had five good games.

On-Topic: Chiriches was mediocre at Tottenham. But I am pretty sure it wasn't his fault in totality.

Anyway Napoli had a scrub tradition of defenders in last 10 years, definitely  their weakness ( team always carried by a top attack for the Serie A level )  so it won't difficult to get better than others

Yep, he is good technically. He was very good at distance shots & long balls at Steaua. He managed to score a long-ranger for Spurs too. Also he is good at standing and sliding tackles.

His biggest weakness in the past were aerial duels. Also, to regain his old form he needs to improve his confidence.

I wonder if he can play in the mifeild like Chivu could. Lack of aerial prowess is not very attractive for a CB. But if someone were to place him at DM/CM his Technique will be tested and may prove to be beneficial.

Probably he could play in the midfield but until now he didn't.

Only 7 games for Napoli last season if I am not wrong, what a waste of talent. I don't understand why talented Romanian football players can't keep up with the level of football played in other countries nowadays. It wasn't like this before.

In 94' when we beat Argentina at the WC we had players with great mentality and attitude playing at big clubs in Europe.

They weren't more talented, I think they were more serious.
