Re: Eto'o to Chelsea
They played two legs against us and he was the only one who looked like doing anything.Donuts wrote:honestly.. the people here hyping him up have you guys even seen him play in Russia? why does everyone think he is going to be some large improvement.
And this was from playing as a 10 their midfield was so garbage he had to become the playmaker, creator and goalscorer
He's still quick, he's still got good movement.... playing week in week out with a team full of creators behind him i struggle to see a scenario where he fails tbh.

Exactly. That's the ref's fault, not his(though I still hate Barca).Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:I think he's referring to the Ballack shot from two yards which hit Eto'o in the shoulder blade.Blue Barrett wrote:How did Eto'o himself cheat us out of a final?
In any case that's on the ref not Eto'o and i don't think that was a pen anyway, even if a few other calls probably were.

Ballack would have smashed it in, if it wasnt for Eto'o's block. No question. He hit it perfectly.

Therefore, its the ref's fault for not calling it. It not a Suarez-Ghana WC situation.

Re: Eto'o to Chelsea
I hope Mou uses him properly. Mole the way I see it he will have to hold the ball up and bring others into play. Chelsea players don't really play the ball through the defense.

Re: Eto'o to Chelsea
@jibers
They used to make effort to play through the defense but Torres can't hit a cow's arse with a banjo and Ba can't stay onside(poor positioning). Can't finish well either, judging by the billion and one one-on-one chances he missed in the last 3 months of last season. The ams understandably took matters into their own hands.
If there's any manager right now that knows how to use Eto'o correctly though, its Mou.

So you have to endure the shittiest, most boring football in the Russian Premier League to be football savvy?

Re: Eto'o to Chelsea
True. But Hazard isn't a playmaker. It will be interesting. I now put Cheslea as title contenders whereas before they were fighting for 3rd placeBlue Barrett wrote:@jibers

I've tried watching a few Anzi games (because Eto'o was there) vs some other Russian team. Suffice to say, I'd rather watch a puddle dry

For the Chelski boys talking shite to Lex right now, it would have been funny if you actually watched Anzhi yourselves. Pls go, haven't seen a match and yet bragging about Eto'o ripping RPL apart

Re: Eto'o to Chelsea
Some quotes from eto'o about chelsea.
http://www.dailymail... ... ctory.html
"We were the only team that wanted to play football. Chelsea going through is a disaster for football," he told the Barcelona-based newspaper El Mundo Deportivo.
"And if this team wins the Champions League, it would make you want to retire.
"With so much money and so many players, what they do is not football," added Eto'o, who also took a sideswipe at the Chelsea coach.
"Mourinho is shameless, at the end they followed his game, did what he wanted, although this time I suppose he will have appeared in the press conference," said Eto'o, referring to the Portuguese coach's non-appearance at the media gathering following the first leg at the Nou Camp.

''I have no interest in signing for Chelsea because I am in the best club in the world,'' said Eto'o.
''They lost their opportunity to sign me a year ago and now they do not have any possibility.
''Never will I sign for a team trained by Mourinho. He wrecked things completely with his behaviour surrounding the two games between our sides.
''I insist Barca boss Frank Rijkaard is the better coach despite however many titles the Portuguese has won.
''Now my dream is to play Chelsea again because I have many things to resolve with them.
''I am a better player than Didier Drogba and Mourinho knows that, and I am going to score more goals than Henry.''
http://www.theage.co... ... 92416.html
"One of the stewards called me a monkey," said Eto'o. "Just look at the coach. He is not respectable. This is the mentality of this football club."
Barcelona captain Carles Puyol said: "Yes, there were a few problems. The other players said a security guard had insulted Eto'o and called him a monkey. That's when the problems started."
"The mood surrounding the Chelsea bench was ugly, their coach's (Jose Mourinho's) expression was ugly. If Chelsea win the European Cup, it would be laughable. They are not a good team, they scored three quick goals because we let them, but the referee was very lenient to them.
"They say he (Pierluigi Collina) is the best referee in the world, I think he is one of the worst."

Re: Eto'o to Chelsea
Some heavy overhyping going on right now.Cant say with a guarantee that he is going to very successful at Chelsea. All depends on his motivation levels to be honest.
That said,if he scores 15 goals, that in itself will be considered a reasonable success.
