But overall, following on from some of the above comments, career wise, CRonaldo is the second best player of all time, we need to admit that. If there is no Messi, than CRonaldo is no.1.

I also think the real Ronaldo though R9 was individually the best player, his passing and play making is probably no where near Messi and not even as good as CRonaldo's, but boy some of his technique, and his physique back then was so unreal compared with everyone else back then, he really made u feel at times he was not human.

A few more I have probably like Pogba, Verratti, Ibra to name a few are overrated, obviously if they continue to improve since they are young, but if not, then I feel they are overrated. Ibra is bit of a big game flop for me, recent examples are many games vs Braca and Real where he is supposed to be PSG's best player, but just disappointed completely.

Unpopular opinion:  NT football has a lot more suspense and overall fan interest because every team is flawed (you have to make due with what your country produces only) and, thus, the games are unpredictable often.  WC and Euro viewing audiences absolutely destroy the CL.

For example, the 2015 CL final had 180 million viewers worldwide.  the 2014 WC final had 1.1 billion viewers.  The 2016 Euro final was expected to reach at least 300 million viewers (final numbers haven't been released yet).

two major factors determine why international tournaments are more popular than Champions League

1. Champions League happens every year and the competition lasts for like 9 months, there is no "hype" until the quarter finals. World Cup is every 4 years so it's a big event and suddenly everyone becomes a football connoisseur/enthusiast.

2. Most CL matches are played in the evening on weekdays. Less people are reach this way... when the match begins, in the Americas most people are leaving work and in Asia many people are sleeping

One thing to keep in mind...  FIFA and UEFA disclose households (meaning TV sets).  They don't extrapolate the average person per household to reach individual viewership.  I get the sneaky sense that leagues extrapolates the number of people.

It kind of makes sense that teams that have a lot of international superstars get huge viewership when they play... because those superstars are from all over the world so a lot of people find personal interest in them.

For the WC and Euro though, the teams only have players from the one country obviously. So it's the event and the actual game that attracts people... not individual interest in players.

I'm sure that those tournaments happening over a very short period of time, during a time when most are on holidays and involving players that most will at least show an interest in have nothing to do with those numbers lol.

Although i personally don't care tbh, i hardly watched the Euros because the quality of football was absolutely trash.

Unpredictability isn't interesting to me unless it's entertaining as well which it very rarely is.
