Re: Walter Samuel
Samuel: “Retirement after season? Perhaps”
Walter Samuel would be out of contract at the end of this season and at an advance age of 35 years old, the chance of him hanging up his boots is high. Speaking to Calciomercato, the player confirms this possibility.
“I could stop at the end of the season but now I have not talked to anyone about this. Sooner or later we, the old guard, have to leave but we would like to bring Inter into Europe. We will give it all. I’m glad to be back playing after injury.”

Re: Walter Samuel
He will be the player that I'll miss mostly when he will retire, even more than Javier Zanetti.

Re: Walter Samuel
He was the back of our defense for years, mostly in that treble season.Lucio was all flash but it was Samuel doing the dirty work cleaning up.They were a perfect match though, since I'm a football fan I haven't seen a partnership that good.
Brilliant positioning sense, unmatched strength, aerial ability and a tough tackler. When you think it's all over, that's a conceded goal he would turn up with that last ditch tackle out of nowhere. He was brilliant at that.
Truly a world class defender. There aren't any like that in the world ATM.
But there's no way I will ever miss anyone like I will miss Zanetti.Samuel will be close though...

Re: Walter Samuel
Samuel is a freaking tank. I swear just look at him, can't think of a player as solid physically as him.
Still a great defender, injured way too much.
Theoretically, a 4man defense with D'ambrosio, campagnaro, samuel, nagatomo, sounds good.
Surprised Zanetti isn't playing more tbh. For me he's always my preferred leftback/rightback still.

Re: Walter Samuel
That CB partnership in 2010 ! i would watch games knowing that we wont concede, and even when we're under huge pressure id tell myself that if they go passed Samuel they wont go passed Lucio, and of they go passed Lucio like hell they're gonna go past Cesar. Those were the days.
It's sad seeing all these heroes leave but that's the way it is. Zanetti's last game will be tough to watch, but hey, at least we saw him with a CL trophy, and of all the great moments he had with us, seeing DAT smile on his face with the trophy in his hands is the one ill always remember.

Re: Walter Samuel
I rate him as the best central defender seen from me
Libertadores with Boca, Scudetto with Roma , Champions League with Inter .... what a legend
