What I do agree with is the design of that Fire home shirt....just not right at all.

I'm not one for conspiracy theories but the similarities between the Quaker box and the new home kit are hard to ignore, especially when one considers how much of a departure that kit is from the Fire's traditional home kits (which is why I dislike it so much). The Fire have always had red kits with a white bar behind the sponsor (1) until 2012 when that white was replaced by blue. 2012 also happened to be the year that Quaker took over as kit sponsor (2). We had the same in 2013 and now, the second home kit that features Quaker, suddenly provides such a dramatic move and similar look? Hard not to suspect something at play there. (3)

The more I see this kit, the less I like it. Now that you've pointed out the similarities to the Quaker box, I'm absolutely incensed. This is a joke.

As Red knows well, the Fire kit's basic design elements had been the same since '98. To drop all of that for this tawdry effort is rather embarrassing. It frankly looks like a training kit or possibly a third kit (though the fan-designed third kit is far, far better).

I was expecting so much for the kits for the World Cup given that it would be in Brazil, but these kits have been as basic as they come. Outside of the Netherlands kit I haven't really been all that impressed with any of them, and even the Netherlands kit could have been better (I would of liked some black accents).

I am underwhelmed.

I actually quite like the black and red kit, but I don't understand why the buttons are necessary, kills a really good kit for me.

That's my problem with the home kit, too. The shirt is okay, although I would have preferred a classic white one. And for the away kit my absolute fave is still the all black kit of 2010.
